Looking on Ebay you know......anything I should pay close attention to? I just need a cheap Laptop to watch DVDs on when camping, and also would like on to hook a VAG COM up to my TDI with.

We bought a Compaq NC600 WIN XP about 1.5 yrs ago for $ 400. Not a bad notebook and mostly used for email, web surfing. Screen is okay but the newer notebooks have a better screen display. Some of the older notebooks have a cheap plastic case that starts to crack so be careful. If I had the to do it again I would have one custom built.

Watch the Office Depot ads. My family has bought three laptops there for under $400 after a rebate - I'm typing on the Compaq one right now. I've seen them as low as $299, I think that one was an HP. Didn't need any more at that point so I didn't buy it.

 

I wouldn't trust eBay - too many people getting ripped off . If you buy too cheap you'll regret it .
