Nasty Fire!!

Hey, t-7 firefighter You guys in Little Rock, made national news with the 5 little kids that perished in the trailer fire. Thats tough when its kids. I know we like the action but I hope you were off for this one. I've been to a couple of trailer fires and I have to say they are fast burners and hotter than H***!

Same here, it don't take long. Here in Lake County, it is real rural with alot of manufactured homes thru-out the county. I have always said, I will turn in my gear if I were to do a primary search and not find anything, but if during the secondary search the kid(s) were found in the closet or hiding elsewhere. THANK GOD that has not happened.

the fire was actually about 40 miles southeast of here in a town called Humphreys. but yes it was a terrible fire. it is always hard when children are involved. it is bad enough for everyone else but children don't really grasp the reality of the situation. i have made several just like it though. mobile homes tend to go up very rapidly as you know. the shame of it is, a couple had just dropped off their 2 children not 10 mins earlier. if only they had been a little late.

truly sad for everyone.

I'm a vol. fireman where I live. A couple of years ago, we were paged to help another district on mutial aid with a structure fire. I was standing by the back door when they brought out two small body bags. When I got home all I could do was hold my wife and cry.

House fires are horrible, I have alot of respect for local guys who risk their life for the safety of the public. Makes me think about how little the rest of society (self included) does to help out. Takes a real man,(or tough woman) that's all I can say.

Were I live in Evanston, Wy we had 2 volunteer fireman die earlier this week. Called to fire with trapped children- there were none and while in the townhouse searching there was an explosion. Under investigation still , rumors are it was a meth lab that blew.

Yeah that must have been a tough one. In my district the biggest hazards probably aren't fire. I got to witness a drive by shooting about a month ago while on an EMS call. I'm on my 5th shooting victim in less than year. In comparison the fires seem simple.
