Britt ... she's growing like a weed !!! Sure is a cute little weed though

She always has a smile on and looks quite content .... my kids only look like that when they are guilty of something . Seriously ... she is a happy baby and it's obvious that she is loved and well cared for.

I saw the flip-side in the local Wally-world this evening. A very young mother (not more than 16 y/o) covered in jailhouse tattoos with two curtain-crawlers who both smelled like urine were in the check-out line. Sure made me thankful for the life I have.

Keep posting the pics !!! We love to watch her grow.

Thanks Pistol.

Yes, she is well cared for and loved. Loved more than anything that I have ever loved in my life. A love that only a parent could know.

The girl at Wal-Mart that you speak of is one of the only things in this world that bothers me. Those poor kids don’t stand a chance in this world (more than likely). They will only know what they have been taught all of their life. It is a vicious cycle that never ends. You and I will continue to support people like this and it is the children that suffer. I have made plenty of rescue runs on underprivileged children to make me thankful for what I have and what I am able to provide for my family.

That said, sometimes you can’t help being poor but you don’t have to be filthy. Soap is CHEAP. You can wash yourself and your children. There is no excuse for children not being taken care of and I have a ****on for that. If I see a child being neglected while I am on duty, I will turn the parents in to social services in a heartbeat. Doesn’t bother me at all. Anything is better than where some of these children live.

I look at my daughter and just wonder how someone could not want to provide the best life for his or her child as possible. Once you decide to bring another human being into this world, it is no longer about you. It should be completely about your child.

I volunteer for big brothers big sisters and my “little brother” comes from a low income family but he is well mannered and well taken care for. You can tell, his parents are doing it right and they are doing everything they can for their child.

Wow.... I kind of went off on a rant didn’t I? Okay, I’m off my soap box now.

Thanks again Pistol and it’s good to hear from you again

Britt

All kidding aside.... I'm with you.

I married "WAY" out of my league (but as you know... most fireman do). I think it's the "Hero factor" that draws hot women to us.

Case in point.....

Britt

Don't ever let anyone tell you that the picture is not a living being. The last ultrasound we had came at the start of the 2nd trimester. Wife wasn't feeling good (4th pregnancy so that was different than all the rest) so we had to see a specialist. I can still remember the drive to Massachusetts to the clinic and the absolutely forboding cloud cover on the way there (man it was wierd clouds, the puffs were underneath and the cloud layer lowered all the way there). We both had an ill feeling in our guts.

Were we all shocked to see two heads pop up when the ultrasound was turned on. And the twins were boxing each other. The tech, my wife and I just watched in amazement as their little arms and hands sparred with each other for quite some time. 12 years later nothing has changed except our lives and that was for the way-better side. What a wonderful trip. And yes it is over far too quickly
