Muffler placement & orientation?????
I realize a muffler that minimizes the disruption of the exhaust flow, while maximizing (depending upon ones taste) is supposed to be the best. However, many mufflers have protrusions into the exhaust stream. Some say have the open end of the protrusions toward the turbo, others say open side toward the tailpipe. Do the spirals accomplish anything other than add turbulence, thus backpressure?
Others say just perforations is the best.
What I'm getting at is, I've got the duals on the truck. Now I'm looking to get just the right sound. Don't even start with straight piping it. I had a loaded 3500 pass me this weekend that was louder than a Harley V-Triple Twin (no such animal, but if there was) straight piped.
Got a low beer alarm and need to do something about it. Just give me a bit of info and experience with various types.
