Where do you guys down load mp3. ????

 

I use Limewire into a temp file then delete after I move them into my music files.
Then re-enable the firewall.

Or you can get software (usually comes with a CD burner) that converts regular wav. files to mp3 so you can use your own music.

 

Well, I use Bearshare. For some reason Limewire never found what I was looking for, Bearshare returns better search results.

I'm too lazy to convert all my vinyls into MP3's, so I just download them...

Use newsgroups... it's the safest for your computer, and the safest for you. It's all open ended, 100% manual, and 100% effective. It's a bit hard to use, but you can get MAJOR MOTION PICTURES, all the LATEST GAMES, as much MUSIC as you can handle, and ANYTHING else you want. Plus, you'll never need to buy another OPERATING SYSTEM or another piece of SOFTWARE ever again. Some newsgroup programs are easy to use, but they cost a small $1 fee per month to use, but you can download anything you want, whenever you want.

 

But.. You need to figure out how the heck to use newsgroups...

 

mIRC for the last 8 years... never touching bearshare, limewire, morpheus, kazaa, grokster, blubster, torrent apps or any other virus ridden pile of.... i like a clean computer.

 

Bearshare is the dirtiest by far that I have found. Limewire is decent.
ares is another good choice.

go on an undernet server on mIRC

get a channel list

search channel list for mp3

some of my favs are : #mp3passion #mp3tunes #mp3oldies

join channel use @find to search for music.

@find *garth*brooks*thunder*

will search for any combination of garth brooks and thunder in the file name.

people will send you a message saying how many matches they have.

copy paste the line from the message they send you into the channel. just highlighting it then letting go will copy paste.

usually it will be like

!ihavemusic Garth_-_Brooks_DoubleLive_CD1_-05-The_Thunder_Rolls.mp3

or something like that... !username filename.xxx tells them to send that file.

paste that into the channel and hit enter. they will say in the channel "request recieved and in que 1/25"

You will quickly get the hang of sorting through the messages to find the best server ( xx of xx free slots - how many they can send at a time)..

there is que lists also, so if they are 5/5 slots used, you will be on a waiting list.. i usually go to the next message box to find it again

Kinda weird to get used to, but the best way to get music.. especially if you want ALOT of complete albums.. without skips or low quality.
