Take a look at this ugly duckling. Not one I would own, but it has some interesting specs. Had a look at some other sites that show the 6X6 and it does appear to have the ability to go almost anywhere. At least it is diesel powered.

I saw something similar to one of those being used as an armored police vehicle at the Stuttgart Intl. Airport. Looked pretty tough ... but as you stated, ugly.

They have a very high center of gravity. I watched one flop over on something that any jeep toy etc would not have.

I like unimogs a lot more.
