I would love to see Jeep kick their butts, but that's me. The H2 is nothing more then a status symbol. At least all the ones I have seen so far have been owned by Soccer Mom's and wannabees.

I personally know only one owner of a H2. Before Christmas they told me that my driveway was too muddy for them to come by. I got a big kick out of that.

They bought it cuz the PSD was a buy-back. Still wonder what they were thinking.

Anybody ever used a H2 for a tow vehicle?

Give me a H1 with a transplanted 12V Cummins anyday.
Actually, just call it a Hummer since it didn't need the H1 name till the H2 came out.

I've seen to many pics and videos of the H2 actually offroad and either horribly stuck, or severely broken.
A wannabee 4x4 if there ever was one.

Fancied up minivan for the people too highbrow to own a minivan.

i agree to, i cant stand H2's. I have seen them offroad, on even mild trails, and they suck, my 4 banger wrangler walks circles around them. Even worse is when Im driving my Jeep and get told by a H2 owner at a gas station that if I ever get stuck I should give them a call .

o well, at least the H1 is a real 4wheeler, too bad GM owns them now

At the end of the day, jeep is still the only brand that requires every model to traverse the rubicon (yes even the Liberty). No, they don't take the hardest route open but they still make the effort. The new rescue looks way bad to the bone. If it is made, the release date should be somewhere around when my son graduates from college. Guess I will have somewhere else to spend that money....

My wife likes driving her truck, and we are committed to diesels but she would like something a bit smaller around town. Looks like that would fit the bill exactly. it could still tow my jeep while I tow the camper. Everyone wins...

Actually I know quite a few folks around my area that own H2's. Truly a status symbol much like the Caddy Escalade. They never take them off-roading, because there aren't enough quarters in the piggybank to clean them. I call these folks too poor to buy a real Hummer and too rich to just buy a CTD!

The H1 comes off a different assembly line than the H2. Obviously wider, more powerful and built to take a beating, unlike the H2 which is simply a Yukon in drag. 25000 units were sold last year, paltry by comparison to the Jeep line. Based on 6600#, they can't haul anything !*

I see quiete a few hummers around my office--in Downtown Houston--- The H2 must be nice to have when you come across the ocasional pothole or curb with some standing water.

You oughta see those H2's shake when they hit an Atlanta pothole! Oh, yeah, those big EXPENSIVE tires are a real picnic to change too!

I've snatched two H2's out of mud and snow on the Utah-Nevada border so far. Both times I was asked by the owners why they'd got stuck so easily. Both times I told them that Suburbans aren't much good off-road, and the new sheet-metal doesn't help.

Well some of the H2s made their way over here too..
Lots of fun with them folks- they really fell for the sales pitch that the H2 was just a slightly downsized HumVee.... as rugged as the big one and still very comfy...
I had the opportunity to drive both. I'd prefer my CTD over both offroad, especially if I had lockers.
On the road I still prefer my CTD over the original hummer. The H2 is actually a nice ride around town.... but so is a Subaru outback or a Volkswagen minivan. Double the mileage, same comfort and only slightly worse offroad. (But much less image )
