kodiak, alaska - swimming across a river may be one way to try to get away from the police, unless it's winter and it's alaska.
Kmxt-fm reports that a 28-year-old kodiak man tried to evade police by jumping from a second story hotel window and swimming across the buskin river before being arrested tuesday.
Alaska state troopers, backed by kodiak city police, u.s. Coast guard military police and a probation officer arrived at the hotel about 11 a.m. Looking for benjamin bodi, who had an outstanding warrant for violating probation and failed to check in with his probation officer.
By the time police caught up with bodi on the other side of the river, troopers said he was too cold to resist arrest.
Bodi treated for mild hypothermia but did not require hospitalization.

From todays San Jose Mercury News...
"Unclear on the Concept: A 41-year-old woman was arrested in Callaway, Fla., in December for beating her husband with a rock, explained that she was angry that he was endangering his health by smoking despite being ill. Said she, “A woman can only take so much.”"

Bandit suspects snared in snow
By DONALD BRADLEY
The Kansas City Star
Sometimes you can see the end of a story coming.
Here’s one about three guys driving around Kansas City this week robbing motorists stuck in the snow. They would stop, pretend to want to help, then break out a gun and demand money.
All right, where do you think this story is headed?
Exactly. Into a snowdrift.
That’s where police found the alleged robbers stuck in their Chevrolet Suburban early Thursday morning.
Not to suggest divine intervention, but one of their victims was a preacher.
Inside the suspects’ Suburban, police found a gun holster, credit cards of victims and a winter wonderland haul of $42.
Prosecutors on Friday announced robbery and armed criminal action charges against Michael L. Wilson, Jr., 17, and Darion O. Page, 18, both of Kansas City. The third suspect was a juvenile.
According to court documents, Wilson denied participating in the robberies. All he did was drive, he told police. Page admitted being present, the documents said, but he blamed the holdups on the juvenile. The 16-year-old declined to make a statement.
A man who identified himself as a preacher got stuck in the snow about 10 p.m. Wednesday near 85th and Prospect Avenue, the court document said. A man stopped to help.
As they dug with shovels, a two-tone Chevrolet Suburban pulled up, and a passenger asked whether they needed help.
Two men got out the Suburban. One pulled a semi-automatic handgun and demanded money.
A few hours later, the same scenario with a Suburban played out with a stuck motorist near 103rd Street and Hillcrest Road.
As police were on their way to that robbery, other officers spotted a two-tone Suburban stuck in snow at 93rd and Hillcrest.
The two men and the juvenile inside needed help all right. But forget the shovels. They needed lawyers.

Sometimes I wonder if we need a thread titled "Losers" rather than "More Fail". Saw this story a few days ago and now there is more, so decided to post it. This woman is pathetic and a multi loser.
