Monthly Chainsaw Thread
Just put a Husky 346xp on layaway. The 372 kicks my butt after debarking 2-3 logs with the log wizard. It'll be nice being able to cut back set up time with the mill attachments with a second saw. I can use the 346 with my mini mill for making square cuts on logs for beams. Husky had a good deal on a case, extra chain and gloves as well.

Cool idea Tony. I have a 45 horsepower 1950 Homelite I bought at a sale. It has a kick starter on it and will make a man out of you or kill you, which ever comes first. This thing must weigh 45 pounds at least.

I know one thing, it is one bad whammer jammer. It will flat eat through a tree with a good chain on it. I picked it up at a shop for $25. A guy had traded it in on a new saw and the dealer gave him $20 fot it on trade in. I saw it and liked it. He sold it to me for $25 and I've had it ever since. Set the first tree on fire that I cut with it as well as the hair on my knuckles. No exhaust, just a hole in the cylinder where the fire comes out. 8) 8)

Every year here in town they have what they call "Logger's Sports"... One of the feature events is the V8 chainsaw competitions. They have to be handled by 3 huge gorillas... They make more noise than a Huey and they tear through a 3 foot cottonwood in about 1 second!!! I wonder if they'll ever put a 5.9L CTD on there? That might be neat ;D

The weapon of choice for me has been the Husky 394. ;D ;D
It's heavy, loud, and has had up to a 36" bar on it.
For smaller work around the house or when climbing, I use the Husky 262.
Also I think that the chainsaw thread is a good idea 8) 8)

I've got Stihls. Used to be a Mac fan until they shut down. Still got the scars on the right arm after the old 10-10 decided to get rid of her roller bearings. Looks like I took a load of #6's from close range. One thing I can say, when she decided to die, it was in a spectacular fashion. Nice ball of fire and lots of hot metal. Top would have had a bad case of hormonal imbalance.
The only thing I wish I had for my saws was a chain that would eat nails and blackjack oak without resharpening.

shortround out

No troub shortround.....Rapco Carbide Chain. This is one MANLY saw chain, but take a deep breath before pricing one. They average about a buck-and-a-half per link.
