Question ??? Mixing Bondo ???

I have a what looks to be gallon can of Bondo-Hair body-filler.

The directions say to mix 1/4 can of Bondo to 1/4 tube of hardener.

I would like to break this down into smaller amounts.

If I have one cup of Bondo, how many drops of hardener will it take??

Also, I noticed two different hardeners, at the parts store, plain and RED; what is the difference??

Thanks.

I used the red.

mix a blob about the size of your bondo paddle with pea sized drop of the red stuff. mix this together. It should turn a light pink. and will harden in about 10 minutes. Only mix what you can work with.

It's not an exact science. You get used to eyeballing it by color. I like to mix mine hot. I usually use about an inch of hardener on a 3-4" blob of bondo.

It's good that it isn't.

I am using the HAIR stuff.

It is deep blue-green, right out of the can.

The creme hardener, that was attached to the can, is red.

I have successfully (I hope) mixed a few rations, as per you guys advice.

We will see how it turns out.

I thought gooey old fiber roofing tar was a mess to deal with; but, this stuff takes the medal.

Sounds like it's similar to the bondo-glass. I use that alot. That stuff ends up almost a purple color when mixed correctly with the red hardener.
