Missing Veteran
Bill Boyer past Post commander was reported missing on Sat Apr 21 2007.
Bill was on his way to attend the Marine Corp League officers installation at the star of the sea catholic church in Brookings Or.
He never arrived nor has he been seen since.
He was driving a 90s model green ford windstar van with Oregon plates and support the troops ribbons on the rear. it also has POW MIA bumper stickers on the drivers side rear passenger window.
If you have any information please contact the Curry County Sheriffs office.

My advice is get all of your buddies to check the roads starting with the most direct routes (even if backroads). Be especially aware of skidmarks, and broken branches on trees and shrubs in the strangest areas.

Motorcyclist work great for this type of search as they are able to see much more of the road and tend to be more observant of their surroundings.

Hope you find you buddy!! Our prayers are with him!

Rick

I live in Eastern Oregon.
Is there a general search still ongoing?
Are they focusing on any specific area?
Is he the kind of person to pick up hitchhikers?????
Please post or PM the license plate #.
Has the Sheriff posted the info to the State Troopers?
Top 3 scenarios:
1.accident and in a hole off the road
2. Older guy gets confused, and drives off somewhere else, and is now actually prettty lost.
3. Hitchhiker/hijack scenario.

Our prayers here in this household are with your friend. I am a life member of the VFW, and a Combat Vet as well as experienced in SAR. If I can help in the search, let me know by PM.

Bills van was found 25 miles out in the mountains at the end of a logging spur road.
He had high centered it and trapped him self in it and it looks like it caught on fire due to friction of the tires spinning. A total burn out and it looks like his remains are in the ashes. The State forensic anthropologist will investigate to be sure.
Foul play is not suspected.

Please continue to Pray for his Widow.

Thanks All

This is a terrible out come. I am very sorry to hear this. But I will say one thing he was found. To not find a missing loved one or friend, leaves one empty of the zest for life.

Tis very true. His Widow can start to heal the hole left in her heart.

Man! What are the odds of something like this happening? Is the family ok except for the grief of course? Can anything be done for them?
