Thanks fellas for the input. I just got back from the recruiting office, i had to sign up for the meps or where i take my ASVAB test. I have the test tomorrow at 2:00. I hope i ace it. Man it would be nice if i did. But i most deff. will get up and walk out if i dont get what i want. I wont be stuck for 3 or more years doing something i dont like.

Just remember, you don't HAVE to do anything until you accept the plane tickets. Until then, this is just a conversation between you and the local representative of the Army. If it was such a great deal, why did he have to bring a hottie with him to sell it?

 

LOL i know i was like ***? But she was yall, i saw her again today when i went to sign up for the asvab test.

 

Well guys, i know this is getting old but i didnt want to start a new thread being this is the one i started in the first place.,
Anyway i went to take my ASVAB today and i made 51 and my GT was a 99. My recruiter said that was a good score. Now if i was in HS i would get grounded for that so i guess its a lil different. Anyway, i am suppose to get on a Shuttle Thursday and arrive in Houston for Meps at 11:00 or so And stay in a hotel and wake up a 4:00 on Friday for Meps. I will have to take a ARMS TEST it is just because my BF is a little higher than 26%. But i am not worried i took one today with Pants and heavy boots on and did pretty good. Well Wish me luck guys, i plan on swearing in on Friday if i get the MOS i want. I will let you guys know.

Hey there ... a 51 isn't anything to sneeze at. The ASVAB doesn't follow the standard grading curve like in school. It doesn't measure how smart you are either ... it simply lets them know what your POTENTIAL to learn and comprehend the technical info that they need you to learn.

Watch your P's & Q's when you go to the motel for the night. There are going to be a lot of other young people there (many with severe immaturity issues ) and it isn't uncommon for several of the knuckleheads to do something to get kicked out and bring discredit on the military .... obviously NOT military material, right ? I have had to make a 4 hour drive back to MEPS to pick up one of those kind of knuckleheads and take them home ... wasn't a real pleasant trip for THEM .

I retired two years ago after 30 years with the Coast Guard. Great organization. I had a blast. Search and Rescue, law enforcement, environmental protections, national security, technical, all kinds of jobs. Do you know what you want to do in the service? For some jobs some services are better than others. Let me know if I can br of some assistance.
