Sometimes some of those tests seem to help feed dillusions of adequacy. But I may be wrong.

I'm sure most mensa people are smart, but let me tell you about an article about mensa in our local paper, or the Readers Digest. I forget which

Two mensa members were in a cafe, and the salt and pepper shakers were opposite, or in the wrong dispensers. They were trying to figure out how to solve the problem without spilling the salt, and pepper. The waiter came over, and simply unscrewed the lids and swapped them. Problem solved. High IQ isn't very much without common sense.

I took that test and got a 122. Actually a little low for me, but challenging no less!

I am one of those that have no common sense. Just ask my wife.

If you woke up in the night thinking! You should test yourself.
People tease me because I tell them I dreamt about the issue and found the resolution. So I don't often tell people that part of the resolution.[/QUOTE]

Maybe if I have to ask the question then I don’t need to be tested. But I wake up a lot at night thinking.
Where would one go to be tested? Or can one take a test on line?

Or maybe I’m just nuts.

You can take an IQ test online here: http://www.iqtest.com

I don't know how accurate it is. According to my wife, my score was WAY higher than she thought it should be. I think she was messing with my little mind.

Not sure if my BIL is a member of Mensa, but he has a PH.D in quantum physics and only missed 2 questions on his S.A.T.
He is sharp as a tack. BUT !! He can not figure out how to drive a 6-speed. Can not drive a farm tractor and just recently called Triple -A to change a freakin' flat tire he had at his house !!!! Common sense is not a strong suit to him. He tends to overthink everything.
You think it is frustrating trying to teach (some ) women to drive a five speed, I almost pulled my hair out trying to teach this guy..

You can do an initial assessment here. www.highiqsociety.org/iq_tests

Should you score well enough they will contact you about membership and taking the real test.

Easy on the bad spelling! I cant spell worth a crap, never studied, never played any games to expand your mind, was in the bottom 10% of my high school class however I aced college, the SAT's and I have an IQ well over genious. I still cant spell! Its ok though most people can decifer what im writing.

As with the salt/pepper shakers. The problem with alot of intellegent people is that there so far out there they over think simple things like that. There very used to working on such complex things that the simple answers can excape them.

I have a tested IQ of 132 (a REAL test...not one of the cheesy online tests). According to a Google search I just did, only 2.2% of the population have an IQ of 130 and above.

Remember all those times I tried to tell y'all that I was a genius?? Well, I wasn't kidding.

Now that I'm done patting myself on the back, I think I'll get back to work.

I scored a 116. They must not figure the math part too highly into the test...
