Thank you for all who have sacrificed for our great country.
I was watching Explorer on MSNBC with Lisa Ling.Bob Ballard, the guy who found the Titanic, was were the battle of Midway was fought,he was looking for the Japanese carrier KAGA and the US carrier Yorktown, and Ballard had some Japanese and americans on board, the same men who was fighting each other during this battle,it was a great moment to see the Japanese and Americans come together to pay tribute to each other and the fallen men from this great battle that turned the tide of war in the pacific.
I was a great thing to see.
God Bless.

I see those bumper stickers that say "If you love your freedom, thank a vet." No truer words were ever spoken. So many men and women have died so that I can sit here, in my home, with my family, on my computer, and post my thanks for being free.

To all who have served...thank you from the bottom of my heart. I don't know what this nation would have done without your service and dedication.

To all who are serving, including a very good friend of mine in Iraq, be safe and know that we are praying for you, those who are with you, and your safe return to your families and friends.

Yesterday at the Oreilly nationals in Topeka the crew cheif for Whit Bazemore took his time during the interview to say thanks top the Vets. Everyone always plugs their sponsors and rightfully so, but sometimes it gets out of hand. it was nice to hear Lee Beard do that. Class act guy.

Here is another person that supports our Veterans and shows it...not just says it:

"President Bush believes that the people who serve in the military are giving their best to this country, and as Americans we have the responsibility to give out military our full support. The past four straight VA budget increases have provided more than a 40% increase in VA health care alone since 2001. In the past 4 years, President Bush's budgets have allowed the VA to enroll 2.5 million more veterans for health care services, increase outpatient visits from 44 million to 54 million, increase the number of prescriptions filled from 86 million to 108 million, and open 194 new community-based clinics available for veterans."

"As our servicemen and women fight abroad they can be sure of two things: President Bush will provide every tool and weapon they need to win the War on Terror...and for the rest of their lives, they will have access to high-quality health care and benefits through the Veterans Administration. President Bush values America's veterans, and the great sacrifices they have made over the years to promote freedom," said Principi.

NEW CUMBERLAND, WV - Today, Brigadier General John C. "Doc" Bahnsen, U.S. Army (Ret.) released the following statement contrasting President George W. Bush's support of veterans with Sen. John Kerry's record on veterans issues.

"The President has provided historic support to the thousands of men and women in uniform who have served, and continue to serve our nation.

"The President's 2005 budget for VA medical care is over 40 percent larger than in 2001, providing benefits for an additional one million veterans. West Virginia directly benefits under this budget with more than $881 million for veterans in West Virginia, an 8 percent increase over the 2004 budget.

"John Kerry voted against the McCain Amendment to require equal access to health care for all veterans, voted against an amendment that would have increased funding for veterans' medical care by $650 million, and voted against last year's supplemental Defense bill, which included funds of $1.3 billion for veteran health care. He even voted against $87 billion in supplies like body armor for our troops in Iraq. John Kerry's rhetoric of supporting veterans is completely detached from the reality of his record."

I shook the hand of a vet today and said thanks for keeping us free.

He looked at me kinda strange, and said:

"Ummmm, Ok, that'll be 25 bucks for the rabies shot and deworming".

Couldn't resist.

Much thanks to all the "veterans" whether they've fought in a war, or stayed behind to man the homefront.

To add to sgroom's post.
I've seen a bumper sticker that states:
"If You Can Read This, Thank A Teacher"
"If You're Reading This In English, Thank A Veteran"
