May I suggent more time at the range?
0 for 22. Hmm. Maybe more range time is in order as well as a reminder to watch your background so you have less patching to do later.
Idaho Cities to Patch Up Bullet Holes in Houses
GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) — After officers fired 22 shots at a fleeing man without hitting him, Boise and Garden City police departments said they'd pay nearly $7,000 to repair bullet holes in homes that were hit during the wild confrontation.
According to insurance claims filed with both departments by residents, shots fired by four officers in pursuit of 39-year-old Harlan Hale hit doors, windows, window moldings, garage doors, an all-terrain-vehicle and a clothes dryer. No one was injured in the March 9 chase.
Garden City is a town of about 11,000 residents surrounded by the city of Boise.
The shots came as police tried to apprehend Hale, who had been the target of a manhunt after he was accused of shooting at two Boise police officers during a traffic stop on Feb. 28.
He was arrested March 9 less than a mile from the neighborhood. After a short car chase, Hale drove through a back yard and over a shed before crashing his car into an irrigation canal.

I saw that live yesterday, they were feeding it live via satelite out to the world,
so us in Utah who never get to see a high speed chase got to watch.
No, we didn't air it, we just had it tuned in for our own enjoyment.
The shooting a couple days ago in compton however,
something like 90 shots fired by the police, and the perpetrator is still among the living, in the hospital.

Fellas,
I will explain in so many words how adrenalin can take over your body when you are tasked with a life or death situation. The will to survive is a very strong drug like feeling, once you come down off of it you feel as if someone stole the life out of you.
I will not go into much more detail as not to offend anyone but those fellas who currently serve in war zones overseas or have been in previous war conflicts know what I'm saying. To round this out, you assume the sense of kill or be killed other wise known as "self preservation". If you dont believe me talk with one of the fella's that has also come back from fighting. Many of you do not know the feeling of being stalked or targeted by someone trying to kill you, trust me it is not a good feeling. That is why many of the guy's that come back from these conflicts are never the same. Being a police officer is a thankless and unappreciated job, just as serving your country in war zone, but someone has to do it. Many of you dont seem understand that many times you are out gunned and out manned and the only reason you survive your patrol is out of sheer self preservation. Then there are the procedure that if you are not well versed on, can cause you or a number of you partners grave danger or loss of life. Unfortunately, the medial plays a big role in the portrait of those that serve us or protect the peace. They never show the positive side of operations and often go thankless. They only portray things when they go south.

Here's the one Phox mentioned in the LA area. 4 for 120 on an unarmed suspect and hit one of their own.
I think too many cops are watching cop shows on TV and following suite. I understand that a moving target is hard to hit but if you don't have a good shot with a clear background, DON'T PULL THE TRIGGER! If they can't control the adrenalin rush and that sense of "self-preservation", they shouldn't be LEO. IMHO, the officers or deputies ought to be personally responsible for the damages and they should be reassigned to a position where they are not allowed to carry a firearm.
Sorry but I can just imagine what a private citizen would be charged with if they sprayed a neighborhood with 120 rounds. I think we ought to expect better from LEO.
LOS ANGELES Ten Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies who opened fire on an unarmed driver in a quiet Compton neighborhood Monday appeared in front of the news media today.
The deputies stood silently while their lawyer apologized to the residents on their behalf. Gregory Emerson explained that each had voluntarily told investigators what happened during the videotaped shooting which followed a brief pursuit. Emerson said they didn't try to "harm or injure or otherwise jeopardize the safety of the individuals" on the street.
The men fired 120 rounds, striking the suspect four times and bruising one deputy who was hit in his bulletproof vest. The suspect is recovering at a hospital and has not been charged.
Bullets penetrated several homes, prompting outrage from some residents. The sheriff has offered to double the typical payment for damages incurred.
