Marvin Zindler of Houston dies of cancer

Marvin Lindler, Eye Witness News had died of cancer. He was 85, if I remember correctly.
He is the one that got the "Chicken Ranch" in Texas closed. The movie "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" is based on that.
He always help the "little person" fight the big guys. He called my sister about a social security issue she had. He did his own phone calls.
He will be missed.
Marvin, rest in peace.

Yeah, what's left of the chicken ranch is located about 10miles from me. ZZTop made it more famous with "LaGrange". Part of the chicken ranch is a restaurant in Dallas (not sure of the name) and what's left is unrecognizable.
He was a good guy, I remember him on channel 13 Houston when I was a kid, he was a hoot.

Yeah, we'll all miss him... I'll have to put it on channel 13 at 10 and see if they do a tribute to him.

The best part I like about him was he started off in Media at, I think, age 51 believe it or not... Talk about it never being too late to start over! Before that he worked in law enforcement.

I knew his grand daughter in high school.

my grandmothers boyfriend(dont laugh, she is 94, and has a 84 year old boyfriend) was friends with him, said he played golf with him all the time and was a good guy.

I can remember him all through my childhood, because my parents always watched Channel 13 when I was growing up

Marvins funeral was today. Big turn out. My sister and a friend went to the service. She said it was a very nice service. Many tributes to Marvin. The lady that the doctors told she would be blind the rest of her life was there with the eye doctor Marvin got for her. She see very well, is married and has a job. She and the doctor went up and laid their hands on the casket.
Lot of white roses. He was a great man.

I will not talk bad about any man that can get that many people in a church, but.........I have never seen him pick up a bible while watching him on t.v..He quotes little scriture and only does "make you feel goody sermons". When I go to our church ( which I love) my preacher (ex rodeo cowboy) makes me feel like I am - a real sinner.
