March 2020 COVID-19 lockdown and confinement thread

So,
Plague type virus spreading around the world, and it appears that the state of NJ, and from what I hear the other states as well, is supposed to enact a type of martial law against (or for, depending whom you talk to ) it's residents beginning Monday morning at 12:01 am.

This being said, we have some food, a few rolls of toilet paper that were graciously left for us by the selfish idiots hoarding and stockpiling TP and bottled water, and any other comfort food, and enough dog and cat food to last a month or so.

Since we will be locked in our homes for several weeks (maybe more) I figured we could swap stories of the crazy days ahead.

Hope you will share your "fun times", as we have a long boring road ahead.

See ya around !!!

Yes.

" Losing my mind " will be a common theme amongst Americans over the next month or so.

Wife and I went to buy an extra dog food dry bag, as Chewy.com is wiped out. Luckily, the local store had 1 large bag left of our dogs favorite "grub", so it was a successful last Friday out sort of fun.

While on checkout line, a woman walks up behind me wearing a mask. It was a deep red color, and looked to be made of a velour material. Kind of weird, and creepy mixed up in a mask. As a joke, I pretended to cough a bit. She got off the line, and as far away from,me as possible.

Funny how easily folks behavior can be altered with a simple fake cough.

Well, it's official.

Not allowed to leave our homes unless it's for food or,some other "essential" will be interesting to see, just exactly what that means under gubberment guidelines

Wife went out shopping at food store today. I was working in the garage building a custom closet door with a couple slabs and jamb legs bought the other day. I found a 6 pack of TP that I bought about a year ago, and forgot about. When the wife came home, I walked out of the garage, handed it to her and yelled "Happy Anniversary, Dear !". Our anniversary is in Sept, but it was good to see her laugh again.

She was supposed to shop for a few things. We now have enough food to last 3 weeks or so, which means my food and beer supply are done, and it's hang time.

Happy wife

Well West Virginia has 22 cases of the Chinese flu one in my county our Governor is following OH VA and KY lead a day behind them all restaurants bars ect are closed we go under a stay at home order at 8pm tonight, he CLOSED the ATV trails but said people could go out for a walk but that makes no sense to me as they are both outdoors away from people.
I guess the good thing is I can catch up on the few repairs I need to make around the house outside of not being able to go ride not much will change for me

yall stay sane

It gets better as time goes on....i think. Ive done a ton of repairs, cleaned up the yard, got a couple naps in (which I never do), and started organizing my little workshop. Getting ready for spring, which will wind up being the beginning of summer, I guess.

Come to find out about an hour ago, my wife's good friend's sister has the virus. Her, her husband, and twin 8 year old daughters are all on lockdown for two weeks. She got a little ill, but not anything major. Sniffles, lethargy, mild cough. She said the real flu was way worse, and she's on the mend (so far) with no help from doctors

If you're generally healthy, and you get this, its a good chance you won't be affected severely, or so it appears.

Best to you and your family and stay safe.

We got 6-8 inches of snow two nights ago up here in VT.
I think the state is going into lock down tonight. I have just been working in the shop and hanging with the dogs as usual. Walks in the woods I own around my cabin with the dogs and sometimes the girlfriend, burning firewood to stay warm, eating well and getting some things done on my projects.
It is nice to be living out in the woods. I feel bad for my relatives in NYC. What a lame place to be trapped. I was born in NYC but escaped from there decades ago as I hated the place.

Great news....albeit I'm not surprised at all.

Wife was "let go" today.

Her boss sent her a text, telling her to file for unemployment. What a POS, not even giving my wife a call. 3 women in an office, the owner, my wife, and another woman co worker. She kept the coworker, and let my wife go. As a business owner, I get it. As a husband watching my wife freak out....this really blows.

Oh well... Not alone, I'm sure

All kinds of bad happening here. Alaska is under lock down as of Tuesday 17:00 hours. Essential services only, everything else is shut down. If you leave your home, expect to get questioned. Goods are allegedly coming into the state as normal, it's just that no one seems to know where it is going once it gets here. It's not hoarders, It's not making it to the store shelves. I see as many out of business signs as I do closed signs.
The company (an essential service) laid off 150 people, my Part 135 group lost 28. Roughly 25% of our personnel scattered across 8 maintenance facilities. My under staffed department lost 1. And this is the 1st round of cuts per our CEO.

Hey cougar. Do you, have a list of essential services? Looking to compare

So, if trucks are heading your way, where is the product winding up. ??

Hoping you can keep your job. This economic turn down, IMO, will have more deaths associated with it, than the virus itself

Finally back from Ft Bliss.
Original flights were canceled, managed to get other flights to get home.
Task Force Commander issued a letter for our team members to carry on our persons granting us permission to be out and about if/when the NCR goes on “lock-down”.
Starting to sound like Europe prior to WWII.
Some areas releasing prisoners from local jails to “keep them safe” from the virus.

Y’All be careful out there.

Good idea to let them out when there's no place to go, no place to work, and no hope of self support.

Gotta love great decisions in the making.

Barges are coming into the state, trucks are leaving the state. As far as where the goods are going, that seems to be a well guarded secret. It certainly isn't going to the stores. It's amazing what a critter cam can reveal.
I would have to agree. The proof is the number of businesses that have closed their doors permanently versus those that say they will reopen when the fake martial law is lifted.
Here it is;; https://gov.alaska.gov/wp-content/up...tachment-A.pdf
Specific in some areas, vague in others. I find it strange that liquor stores and pot shops remain open (only a liberal would call them essential) while "sporting goods" related stores (including gun shops) where ordered closed.

Well, they (California, NJ, NY, etc all closed gun shops after releasing prisoners and announcing they will for the foreseeable future no longer respond to any calls regarding robbery, burglary, assault, prostitution, drug offenses, etc. This way when these ex cons get out, and have no where to work, eat, stay, start a new life, they can quickly return to violent, vile activity, and the gun store closings will only help them out.

Fortunately, the privet sell of firearms is not being impeded. Nor are FFL holders being prevented from "by appointment" sales.
