Looks like this little old town is trying to get back on the FBI's most violent city list again tonight.....

Had a fight with 15 people involved in the local walmart then someone started shooting. Also had a domestic come in after a shooting as well tonight.

Had a standoff yesterday as well. Had 4 different departments respond to that one as well....

Fairbanks was in the top 5 of the FBI's list a few years ago and the city went crazy trying to get off that list. Denial is terible. This town is having some serious growing pains but dosen't want to admit it.

Gotta love job security and a good CCW

Heidi Heidi Ho - - she's back. And thanks for that wonderful foo - - you treat us good, girlie. Here's to Heidi - -

Marc - - hard to believe that kind of stuff going on in your neck of the woods. Neat place. I assume this is all happening in Fairbanks, not your wonderful little town. Oh well - - the last frontier - - the wild wild (north)west.

Sorry about those temps and humidity up north, guys. Come to Florida. Heading to 90 for a high today, light rain falling right now but sunshine soon and lovely day. Great day to head for the beach and work on that suntan - - chase some stingrays - - collect jelly fish.

Poor Hat - - I can already sense the withdrawal pangs. Tears will start shortly. OK, gang, raise one for the HAT - -

OK, I'm out of here.

Bob

Fairbanks is home(born and raised) It also happens to be 14mi. North of North Pole, AK.

Hard to believe that I used to leave the keys in my truck and my front door unlocked only a few years ago.

Still I think it's one of the best places to live.

job security is one thing.......

yeah, repressed responsibility. not to be rude but how many fight fans were zero income ? some say 'opportunity' for going to certain areas to live. I say easy pickens from old fashion values of trust and generousity, and low law enforcement presence. give me the RCMP any day!

kinda funny that Wallyworld is now the madison square garden for events...
maybe the Hatfields andMcCoys migrated? LOL good to hear from you, CO popsicle....

Always, yeah, fun work on concrete. glad you went with primary colors, lol

Fiver! as long as you chase the jellies and not the 20 somethings.....

Matt loco, was up close and personal to a refitted engine to see the oil resevoir cavity....I could have a pool party in there! be careful on your job- let someone know you are not a piston! wow.....

Monday morning and it is time to do some roadtrip paperwork! all is well!

Hey Bark! my kind of humor guy! Trooper, you just may want to order out or
take a cue from my working man son- peanut butter sandwhiches. He'll make five for his 12 hour shift. jeng jing!! teach them that old dodges are goooooood (still love that Simon and Simon ramcharger..)

Heidi proud of Madhatter, wondering who will now spank us when we go wrong...

Trooperthorn: Is the exchange student going to be from China or is it too early to know yet? Time for your son to learn about TopRamen and the 50 different ways of cooking it.
Exchange student is from Japan. The China trip is for my daughtor's highschool music group. They are playing several venues at the olympics as well as touring. Wife is going as a chaperone.

Top ramen, mac and chese, ... all the good stuff we never get to eat because my wife is an outstanding cook and always starts with ingredients (from scratch). I'm a pretty good cook, too. I just hate it. I'd rather make a mess in my shop than a mess in the kitchen. I'd rather clean a mess in my shop than clean a mess in my kitchen. And if you have seen my shop...

time to pour a third . really should do somehing today. A few days ago, I stood-up a couple of barrels of methanol after I rolled them down a ramp out of the rc. I remember thinking to myself, "I'm gonna feel that in a couple of days." I was right. 15 years ago, I would have bear-hugged the 365# barrels and set them off the truck. Now, I guess, I better build some kind of hoist. My back seems to be older than my brain.

Off to finish my guages and exhaust on the "whateveritis".

Wink back and checkin in on the coffee supply....

McD's sweet tea, iced and indestructible...
new pot on for the supper crowd, stronger stuff to chase down dinner...

Hope CIN'sDODGE hands are all betta! miss the launcher goodies in the AM...

Trooper, we will have to compare shop cleaning (or lack thereof). I have three projects going on at any time plus farmer repairs in the field about once a week. and love it! gonna use my neighbors gen one half ton short box truck to haul some price metals to the scrap yard this week- Can you say VRoom VRoom? special factory engine, no clue what it is.....gas job and pricey. three bucks to turn the key....hehe

late at night- every idea sounds good!:

thought I'd burn off some old magazines and stuff from art shop downstairs, putting various boxes together for a nicer burn (supposedly a fireman with 24 years experience). working in barn or house...... BOOM! go out, no diffusion of fire, no little burns anywhere....look at it awhile. go back to work ..BOOM! about five more, my cell phone rings (I call the county when i do a burn) "what the heck is going on, we have had six calls so far!- I don't know but i will go look"

take a rake and reclaim one corner of a box of magazines- had tubes of artist paint in there from the 30/40s....magnesium, phosphates, irons, sulfurs and other stuff DEC would not appreciate. india ink is an explosive in a glass bottle. reallllly glad I opted not to start it with the clear liquids....

heidi trying to get my assessment lowered the hard way

Supitchall...

Night shift on. Been here a few catching up.

Been pretty warm lately. Black flies this week. Bats might just be the key. Thought about a bathouse before, but never followed through. Maybe a hawk-roost on top of it to keep the ground squirrells under control.

Nuther cycle crash tonight. Think we've had one every night I've worked for the last couple weeks. Maybe a lot of new riders trying to avert the hight fuel prices?

There is a town about 30 miles from me called Gary Indiana, it has been labeled for many years as the murder capital of the country. Its a very rough town and I happen to work in it. A few yrs ago the was 1 murder per every 1500 people, and the city only has 100k people in it. ALso they have a very corrupt police dept there, lots of scandals.

I've actually been inside one of those engines, I'm skinny enough I can fit through the inspection holes on the side of the block. Also I have fit my self up in the oil cooler before. It sucks being the only tall and skinny one at work, I get the weird jobs to do sometimes but its fun. We have too many safe regulations to follow so it can be hard to get hurt. And with how I am, I make sure I have everything possible locked out and tagged out, heck I even lock out things that don't need locked out just to be sure. I've always been a safe worker.

Good day at work today. Gf had some good news about a new job, the company just needs to have a few weeks to let the guy in the current position retire. I was pretty much hinted to today that I need to be looking for a new job sometime in the future, sucks being on the lower end of the roster at work. Took a test the other day for ExxonMobil and passed it so I'm now in the hiring pool for them. Gonna have some dinner and the relax. I'll be back later on.

moved 50 plus yards of dirt one yard at a time with the shortest run being 300+ feet, and it all went thru a 4 foot gate opening. it was fun but dusty.

thanks for the compliments on my trans, but the colors dont make it work any better or does it?
maybe i can paint some raceing strips on it to make it shift faster?
