Looking at buying a 01 CTD HO 6 spd. But???

??? I've test drove 3 01' HO's and they all drive like crap. The steering seems loose or something???? They all had less than 30k and were all stock. I'd like to get a CTD but for this kind of money I'd like to get something that drives better than my 20 year old truck I have now. Is there a fix to this problem or what???????

The problem can most likely be fixed for less than 200 bucks with Darins steering stabilizer. Alot of members around here are having great success with it. Here is a link to the thread with the info. Good Luck and welcome to DTR.

The other thing to look at is the tie-rod ends. Luke's Link takes care of the slop from that source or go with a heavier aftermarket link.

Will both of these repairs make the CTD drive as good as the competitors trucks.

It's just a weird feeling to turn the wheel a 1/4 turn and it still wants to go straight. Anything else I need to look at when buying a used CTD. Both good and bad things are welcome.

Thanks for the info

Soon2BDiesel

Do like you would do for any other vehicle. Go over it from head to toe. Get the vin# and have a Dodge dealer check on recall history. Also run a Carfax on it to check title history.
Tom

Found mine on the Internet. Did a carfax and came up clean. Drove 3 hours to Northern Wisconsin and drove her home. Just had to get rid of the Chedder plates before my friends saw it.

Do like MNTOM said and it will work! ;D
