Little Pull Story
Little Pull Story
Last night I was in Saskatoon doing some shopping. I left my truck running when I went in. I was just about done with my purchases when someone comes in to the store asks who owns the truck running outside. I figured oh c**p some eco freak is going to give me what for about my truck polluting his airspace. Instead he wants me to pull his 1500 Dodge with a trailer off the street as it is blocking traffic. For those familiar with 'Toon Town this was on Circle Drive 42nd St.
I finished up in the store went out and got my tow rope ready so I didn't have to do that in the middle of traffic. 42nd St is 3 lanes wide and this guy is in the middle lane It is not rush hour traffic but busy enough to make this effort entertaining. The streets were a little slick as there was a bit of snow falling. When I finally got in front of him and got hooked up I put the truck in four wheel drive to pull. I eased forward to take the tension out of the rope and felt the load. The guys wife flags down the traffic on our right side and I start pulling. I feel the load and figure the guy has his tranny in park. I figure oh well maybe the load is that heavey and start moving. I am sure I slid him about 6 inches before he realized he was moving and released the park.
The whole thing went without incident as I pulled him about half a block onto a side street where there was lots of space to park him. A new Dodge 1500 and the thing just died on him waiting at a stop light. He was not happy.
He offered to pay me but I said tis the season, pass it on. After all I got to show the power of an older Cummins!!!

Very cool story, reminds me of last winter in toon town, pulled a gmc envoy that was stuck out of a snow bank. Apparently I did not wait for him to take his vehicle out of park either. His tranny let out a huge crunch and then he popped right out. Funny stuff.
