Just a little story

Just wanted to share a little story with all. Returning home from work today minding my own business, listing to the radio and all of the sudden….Bam, windshield broken by a rock :'(. Okay, no big deal, I have insurance ….no problem. I get home, let the dog out and I hear a beeping sound coming from the 5er ???. Hmmm, what can that be, open the door and notice a foul smell. Okay, lets check the propane for leaks…nope not that, everything is good to go, stove/oven off, frig turned off, water heater off. Now what…still hearing the alarm and a funny odor ???. Okay, next step go outside and look at the storage compartment. Open it up and get hit in the face with the odor….(this cannot be good :'(), looking, looking, looking…..**** dog got loose and now chasing a cat….oh well he will come home when he gets hungry :-[…still looking, looking, wife came home from work, beeps the horn, scares the crap out of me, I hit my head on the storage compartment, (getting a little ****** at this point >), she walks up and tells me she bought a new pair of shoes (oh what a surprise ), still looking and now I hear what sounds like bacon cooking on the stove…hmmmmmm this is going to hurt >. Open up the battery compartment and find that the water I put in the dry (and I mean very dry) battery yesterday was now boiling inside the battery.
Moral to the story, remember to frequently check the water in your batteries in your RV, this is going to cost me around 150 for two batteries >.
Big dawg (aka Murphy)
Re:Just a little story

Some of those chargers while they claim to not overcharge in your onboard power supply DO!,
I quit leaving mine plugged up for long periods and just have the small trickle type for each battery. 7.99 a piece harbor freight.

Big Dawg, Sorry about the bump on your head, your wife has great timing.

I purchased two group 27 RV deep cycle batteries maintenance free at Costco for just under $100. Take the extra $50 you save and treat yourself.
