Kudos to a good dealer
All too often on this site we hear complaints about bad dealers and bad workmanship. My truck was at the dealer recently and I have the opposite story to report. Here is my story:
This truck spends 99% of it's time in Mexico, so it is very difficult to go back to my dealer. Yes, there are Dodge truck dealers here, but as they do not sell the diesel engined version or the HD, or the 6 speed, their truck experience is limited. Also, have discovered that the Dodge warranty is hit and miss down here. It is a minimum of a 12 hour drive to the dealer in La Grange, Tx., where I bought my truck but I still wanted to go back there as I have had good experience with them. I have not had the opportunity to go north for quite a while so have long exceeded the bumper to bumper warranty and had over 42,000 miles on the truck by the time I finally had a chance to take it to them. Prior to going up I called the dealer and told them about my problem and they told me that they had some leeway with the warranty and to bring it in.
Some of the problems I had were; worn ball joints, steering wheel peeling, cracked alternator bracket, A/C not working right plus a few sundry other items. La Grange Dodge installed 4 new ball joints, new steering damper, replaced one front hub, new steering wheel, the modified alternator bracket, TSB hoses on the steering, fixed the A/C problem and new TSB door seals - all under warranty. I had to pay to have the computer reset for my 315 tires and a few small items, but those charges only came to $69, so can't complain.
Not only did they do all the above, but as I was going to be out of the country over Christmas and the new year, they loaned me a car to leave in long term storage at the airport while they worked on my truck.
This dealer is way out of my way, but as they offer such great service, it is well worth the extra time to take my truck there. This is not the first time they have taken that extra step to keep me happy as a customer. So if anybody is in that area and needs work that they can depend on, I recommend this dealer. When I bought my truck this dealer also gave me the best price out of about 30 dealers in 5 states. Out of all the dealers I have dealt with over the years with different brands, this is the best yet.
