Kubota Tractor Help DT vs HST?

Okay guys need a little help. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a Kubota L2550 DT SHUTTLE 4WD FRONTLOADER for light use around the house. I'm familiar with Kubota tractors but this one have direct drive. The others I've used are the HST version.. Any pros or cons for one over the other? I'll be using it for stall cleanup and running a light duty 6ft bush hog on grass. THe tractor is a 30 horse.

TIA,
Eric

I vote for hst. Mine is the B2610 & with the hst it's so fast when working the bushhog or loader. I've got almost 500hrs & not 1 problem in 8 years.

The one I'm looking at is the DT used with only 100 hours. The closest HST is $3,000 more. Just wasn't sure of the longevity of the direct drive in comparison. Is there a loss of hp or tq? Im gonna be pushing in with 6ft hog.

My L39 is an HST.
Wifey and I like it because it's simple.
That's a Befco 110" finish mower on the rear.

Not enough hp loss to matter. My 24hp turns my 5' hog just fine.

The HST is much easier to use because your not clutching constantly. Longevity for both is great. If the money is right then get the dt, it's the best tool you'll ever buy.

I love my B7610, 6 years of flawless performance.

I have a B2150hst
It is great for loader work and mowing.
If I had a choice I would do it again.
If I was going to do more work with a moboard plow I would want a manual trans.
There is a loss of power with hydro.
A friend has a DT and it seams to have more power with ground turning implements.
I have just 1,000 hrs.

Eric, FWIW I abused mightily my L175, carried a 60 finishing mower with that little 17 Hp, couldn't kill it, not even the clutch.

It was a HUGE pain using the clutch compared to the HST.

Not sure 3 grand worth though.

I just bought a John Deere 1026R last week & love it. It's 4x4 & 25hp I have the front end loader & the box scraper so far. More attacthments to come later. Go on John Deere site they have seven videos with side by side comparison of a Kabota. Just throwing you another choice to look at.

I have a Mahindra 2015 4x4 with front end loader for the past 6 years and no issues. I use it for stall clean up every day, bush hog, and finish cut the grass.

Might I suggest you ask the shops, if anything happens to the unit, what is involved and cost for the repairs.

You will be supprised the difference in the repair cost involved with parts and labor.

I've heard good things about the Mahindra, I just can't get past where it comes from.

The dealer is local to me and the price was right. John Deere and Kubota just want way to much.

I just went to the Mahindra web site & looked at a 25 hp 4x4 tactor with no attachments & it listed for 2K more than what I paid for my John Deere. JD had a $500.00 two implement discount & 0% interest for 48 months. With the front end loader & box scraper & delivered it was under 15K
