Course it stinks really bad so you will stay out of your own yard, therefore your guranteed to not have any ticks on you.

Guineas, about 6 of them. No ticks no chiggers and better than watch dogs. You don't even have to feed them during the summer.

Except, they're much noisier than watch dogs. My parents have some at their place, and those guineas love to "talk" while they're eating. You never lose track of them, because you just follow the noise.

A bit off topic but if you get fleas in the house or the pets, try a cup of dried rosemary with a lemon peel grated, add quart of water and boil, let sit hour and drain it, put in sprayer and spray everything, floors pets kids even the wife if she aint looking. Its harmless , smells good and you wont be pouring poison on your pets and home, can even spray outside, just make a bit more.

Stupid as a bag of hammers but very good watch dog / bug eaters. You ever see them surround a snake? (buckwheat buckwheat)

Yeah no kidding. They go beserk. I've thought about getting some for our farm but we have a lot of great horned owls in our area and they snack on guineas at night.

Most of the good control methods require you to be certified to spray. I would just call an exterminator.

I use some stuff Called "Demon WP". You can only get it here in Lufkin at the feed stores. It mixes in a sprayer.

When I firsted got married and moved to our current residence, our dogs would come home covered in ticks. Frontline solved that problem on the dogs, but it never failed if I went outside I would find one on my pants or something. Then I heard about this stuff. I spray it around my kennel & the fence, around the bottom of the house, around the windows and overhangs, and I have eliminated the ticks, fleas, spiders, etc. It also keeps stinging scorpions at bay, as I had a problem with them at 1st as well.

I would try to get my hands on some of it.

Demon is BAD !! I know this is about ticks but if you guys ever get
infested by scorpions just spray water soluble demon around baseboards &
lower part of house outside. It'll kill for 6+ months.
