Judicial System worked this time(might be long)
You know in the old West they used to hang horse thieves since horses were the primary means of life and transportation. Now we have 235 horses under the hood doing the same thing so shouldn't they be hung 235 times. If a few times are missed so what.

The latest sex offender we had sentenced only got 5 years for rapping a 6yo little girl
No use for oxygen theives like that. AK dosen't have capital punnishment.
See now? If everyone suscribed to MY theory of law enforcement, ("Stop!" "NO!" *BANG*), there wouldn't NEED to be a judicial system. If everyone were required to carry a gun it's still possible the woman would've been shot in the back. BUT, you two guys in the pickup most likely would have been able to end the whole affair quite quickly! And there wouldn't be any NEED to have a trial, nor for the rest of us to spend our tax dollars supporting the criminals for the rest of their lives.
I think it would work!

SOOO glad you are able to post and get the stress out s l o w l y from your trials....you did the right thing, used your brain! very sorry for your worries and hope your memory fades!
clinical proof, intent, different degrees of dead..... it is sad that what has been chiseled in time (right or wrong) has led to so much micro-law.
many of the cases reviewed are done from TIME/ MONEY constraints, and humans being what they are, choose which battle to fight. the legal system, if put into a computer would be fair AND no one would like it. Justice, on the other hand, can only be determined by the impacted parties or victims.
believe it or not, you actually have better arguements in torte law
(cigarette company lawsuits anyone?) which rigidly follow common sense
then allow outrageous sums of money....which is why the best attorneys do this while your public defender has a 50 dollar suitcoat for all occasions.
insurance companies really do not care if you are a hero or dead. they insure the vehicle and expect damages from car jackings. don't get dead.
Glad you took the gun out; if you don't use it everyday -it won't help you.

I use my gun enough. I was trained to use them in combat as well. I noticed key mistakes that were made when the crime was in progress. Hindsight is 20/20 and I know, had my gun been with me, like it usually is now,
I could have put 2 rounds in each of them before they knew what happened. However, anytime in the civilian world, if you even draw your weapon your life will change forever regaurdless if you use it or not.
My rebelious nature wanted to kill both of them, and the thought of being able to fight back right then and there has crossed my mind more than once. That's the vigilante inside me that feels violated. The guy that is happy he was able to go home and be a baseball coach for his 8 year old son is happy to be alive. It's not the movies and people doing the right thing everyday slip up and die.
I appreciate evryones comments. When I started the thread I was overjoyed that these guys won't be walking the streets anytime soon.
