Im a tech at a john deere dealer and i have not seen any issues with the engines in both of the gas and diesel. They both hold up and the value of it seems to hold quite well. The new 4x4 xuv gators are animals and i have tested them out hard.
As for the kabota not so good i have driven them and they are not that smooth hydrostatic, you may think that that is better but as soon as you let off the "gas peddle" you get launched out the front of the machine.
Go with a Deere unless you want a Yamaha rino

We have a gator out here on are job site for 6 months and all i have to say is it is a beast. We load it up every day with 6 big guys and drive it threw mud all the time and we have never had a problem with it. One time we hit the scale with all of us on it and we weighed in at 3500 pounds.

My buddy has a Kubota on his horse farm and I'd agree with this.

as soon as you back out of the throttle it's like throwing on the brake, very slow as well.

Seat of the pants says the Gator feels quicker and more powerful.

Bought one today! Site unseen, other than 3 pictures. From what I've seen , compared to what they go for on Ebay, I think I got a great deal. 2003 6X4 , gas FD620D Kawasaki engine, Curtis cab, very little rust anywhere, seats look good, right at 3500 bucks...........how'd I do?

Anyone near Cincinatti headed to Chicago area this weekend?! LOL A little further of a drive than I really wanted, but I think it will all be worth it in the long run.

I know one way to stop one... forget to put the drain plug in before trying to cross a pond.... :-)

Not sure if it is the same brand, but I almost sunk a six wheeler like that when I was in high school..
