A Cub Cadet 108 lawnmower/tractor 1971-74.

Kohler K181 engine (8HP).

The governor shaft out of the engine will not move by hand. before I tear into it, does anyone have any experience with these? haven't had one apart in years. figured it would be a good project in the warm garage.

I had one that was stuck and i just sprayed it down with some good penetrating oil (everyone has their favorite brand so ididnt want to start a war) and let it sit for a few hours. It came loose without too much effort (probly wasnt too stuck in the first place). I worked it back and forth a few times and it was good as new. Probly not much help but thats the only experience ive ever had.
