A job at the post office

I've been trying to find a job with good benefits, and somewhere I can retire from. A friend mentioned the Post Office. Does anybody know someone that works in the post office. I'm trying to find out what the starting pay is. Because I hate to apply to a bunch of jobs and then they say they will hire me but the pay is to low. So I'm trying to find out how much I should expect before I apply.

my outlaw works for the USPS. starting pay is ok 13 - 15/hr. she's been there a long time. gets lots of days off, lots of vacation, good benefits and retirement.

If I were in your position, I'd look into it seriously. - JKE

Me too, there're Civil Service tests given at the main PO in my county pretty often and it's usually full. Not much turnover at the PO's in my county except due to retirement.

another good point natstayl. good luck finding an opening. after you get the time in, the pay is pretty good. - JKE

Edit - I heard the outlaw discussing deliveries. I think SOME of your pay is based on the route and number of box deliveries??? maybe just this area??

I could ask if you are interested. just let me know. - JKE
