jeep bumper
jeep bumper
my sister just got a new bumper for her jeep i believe its a 96. when i took the old one off there was some sort of canaster thing hooked to it. and me being me i thought to myself that looks like it can be unplugged, so i unplugged it, it made a sound like it had pressure in there. did i do something to mess up the vacuum on her jeep or does it even need it.

You should be able to locate the horn assembly, and the vaccuum canister that is bolted to the inside of the bumper on the passenger side.

so you do need it though right? my dad went and took a quick look and said it went to the exhaust manifold but i think he was doing more panicking then anything else.
that should be the vacuum reservoir for a/c controls and whatever else they may have plumbed into it, it stores extra vacuum supply and a check valve so when you use heavy throttle the vacuum controls will still work. if its unplugged check your a/c controls, you probably can ony get air out the defroster vents. you can get just relocate it somewhere but without it you may loose some of the systems that operate of the vacuum. the line probably traced back to the intake manifold not exh.
