It's a sad day

Well, I have decided to sell out, fuel prices along with other things have driven me to some hard thinking and have decided to sell our 5th wheel and the truck.

If anyone is interested give me a Privet e-mail

Sorry to hear it.
I'm sure there'll be a few others who decide to "Go Smaller".

I'm going to ride as much as possible, but I've waited over 30 years to get the truck of my dreams.
It's going to take more than that to make me give it up.

Sorry to hear that dcwm. I finally was able to buy my CTD after two years of pulling my TT with my chevy 6.5td. I'm not selling my truck!

That does stink. I ride my hog to work all week and play in the big truck on the weekend. It saves us a lot of money. Get you a bike!

Sorry to hear that, had to be a hard decision. Stick around here though.

(Mods, we almost need a new forum for people who have recently sold their Rams: TPilaske, dcwm, TomW etc. etc.)

Sorry to hear that, I'm trying to sell my chevy gasser, about 12mpg. I got my 1st gen for the life span and mileage, around 18 in mine. I just couldn't stand to ride in something small.

How much will a person really save once they lose $$$ selling their truck and then pay for a new vehicle which still uses overpriced fuel? Then, next time you need to haul something you're scrambling trying to find a friend who will let you use their truck......
Why not just sell the trailer and use that money for fuel?????

It's not that easy.. I traded the truck straight across for the Honda. No money changed hands. And with the amount of miles I put in each day for the job commute, I'm already realizing the savings. There's a huge difference between filling up for 24 bucks and filling up for 80.

Having said that, it's a temporary thing. Once things settle down, and I'm back on my feet financially, there will be another RAM sitting in my drive. Just not now. **sigh**

Sounds like an opportunity hard to pass up. Hondas are good cars. Hope you have many miles of good service from it. I've decided I'm not going to worry about it. I have to use my truck for work since I carry tools and supplies. I could use a small car but I don't want to give up the 5th wheel. It's expensive. Even more so with the Hemi but my payments are less to help make up for it. The Hemi is a whole nuther story. My next truck will likely be another Cummins powered Ram. Maybe even another '01.5-'02. That was my favorite...

I hear yah. I guess I'am lucky living accross the street from my job. Well it can be a pain since if anyone needs something it's usually me they call. I thought long and hard about selling too. Then I thought why buy something that gets better fuel mileage when I don't even spend $250.00 per month on fuel which is what the truck payments would be. Then I went and traded my 99 in only because it had the 53 block and there was no way in hell I was going to put up with that especially after all the other bull crap I went through with it. Man am I glad I traded, This 05 truck is so superior to my 99 that there are no words to describe it. On the bright side by the time you get back on your feet the 05's will be inferior and the new models will be superior.

My wife and I both commute 108 miles a day RT. At $2.29 a gal for diesel (64.00 to fill up) she was hating my truck, here was where I finally won the argument! I said yes dear I fill up "once" a week at 64ish bucks a tank and that tank last's me all week! You my dear fill up youre saturn 3-4 times a week at $24-$26 a tank, hmmmmmmm shall I get a calculator to do the math? After a moment of silence she caved in and said you win, nuf said. ..... You have to weight the odd's, little honda cars are nice on gas but in the long run more fill up's a week can add to just as much or greater. Sorry to hear you sold your truck.
