That statement doesn't lend much credence to your own sanity.

Morning people.

Today is Wednesday, July 21st.

On this day in 1733 - John Winthrop was granted the first honorary Doctor of Law Degree given by Harvard College in Cambridge, MA.

1861 - The first major battle of the U.S. Civil War began. It was the Battle of Bull Run at Manassas Junction, VA. The Confederates won the battle.

1873 - Jesse James and his gang pulled off the first train robbery in the U.S. They took $3,000 from the Rock Island Express at Adair, IA.

1925 - The "Monkey Trial" ended in Dayton, TN. John T. Scopes was convicted of violating the state law for teaching Darwin's theory of evolution. The conviction was later overturned.

1930 - The Veterans’ Administration of the United States was established.

1944 - American forces landed on Guam during World War II.

1954 - The Geneva Conference partitioned Vietnam into North Vietnam and South Vietnam.

1969 - Neil A. Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin become the first men to walk on the Moon, during the Apollo 11 mission.

1980 - Draft registration began in the United States for 19 and 20-year-old men.

1987 - Mary Hart, of "Entertainment Tonight", had her legs insured by Lloyd’s of London for $2 million. (Maybe Scotty could take a lesson from this one?)

1997 - The U.S.S. Constitution, which defended the United States during the War of 1812, set sail under its own power for the first time in 116 years.

2002 - WorldCom Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. At the time it was the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history.

2004 - White House officials were briefed on the September 11 commission's final report. The 575-page report concluded that hijackers exploited "deep institutional failings within our government." The report was released to the public the next day.

Coffee & ph00 are ready. Don will probably be late this morning if he's scheduled to work... 100 cows all over the highway after a crash has closed it down.

Sorry Chaikwa, I know how bad you wanted that for your saw garage.

Congrats Blake, that should go great with your new boots with the tassels.

Did the on-scene officers cite the driver for a mooving violation? I heard the whole scene was udder chaos.

Time to go to work.

Twelve of the 26 cattle in the hauler escaped. Michigan State Police and members of the Kent County Sheriff's Department responded but were not able to locate five of the animals.

In a separate crash a short distance away, a vehicle occupied by a woman and her two kids hit one of those runaway cows. The woman told police she was on her way to her babysitter's house when a cow came out of nowhere, colliding with her car near 13 Mile Road and U.S. 131. She and her kids, ages 9 and 10, were not hurt.

If you see one of the unaccounted-for cows, you can call True Grit Transportation at (989) 205-2918.
Sure they will. Better check and see where Blake is. He mentioned something about a BBQ.

OK, one more question. How do you recognize an un-accounted cow? Is it just missing a number or something?

Almost forgot why I came in here. I'm headed back to Lowe's to exchange this 2 year old door I bought 2 weeks ago. I pulled it out of the box this morning to install it and the instructions and installation package is nothing like the info on their site. This was suppose to be a one person install with no cutting of the door frame or hardware necessary. That's not the package I got.

Afternoon...

Marc, my garage door ripped one of the cables off this weekend, I figured out how to fix it, but I was nervous that I would have a busted door for a while. Good thing I've been broke most of my life and learned how to fix things on my own!

Quiet here. Got duty tonight, so it will be a long one. Traps are sore from the gym yesterday.

OL went to olive garden last night, I got some soup, salad and breadsticks out of the deal, it was tasty, too.

Ok, back to work.
