5er, you are correct I have never tried rattlesnake or alligator with swamp cabbage. That being said, I am not opposed to giving either of those a try. Prairie Oysters, breaded and fried, are pretty popular in this neck of the woods. To be up front and honest though, I have never tried them. Maybe one day, after a lot of ETOH I will give them a try, but probably not if I am in my right mind.

Have an awesome Friday and weekend everyone. The southern part of Alberta got its first real snow of the year last night, reports are that it was about 10cm of snow an hour south of Calgary. Time for folks in this neck of the woods to make sure their snow tires are on and that they know where the heck they put that window brush as scraper last May when then used it for the last time.

What a nice link NE frmhnd, I couldn´t help noticing that they have 202 different "nut covers", but none of them big enough to cover me

Gonna have myself a weekend of a decent size, since I´m out of work next week, I just might actually get things done around here....naaah prolly not

About that food, I´d love to try some of that snake/gator, it can´t be worse than at my moms B-day, we had some seafoodsoupthingy... I found myself tinkering about what ferry they cleaned the bottom of .

Luckily it was followed by potatoes and beef, that´s more like me, ohh and beer.

Have a great weekend folks.

Miracle of miracles. Got a call from the trooper last night about my wreck. Seems he has been out on leave for the last 2 months. :bang ing:
He said he would move the report to the top of his priority list. Why in the could he have not completed his paper work, or assigned it to someone else prior to leaving?

Wow Cougar....happy to hear you may be making some progress finally....I know they have few Troopers to work large areas but I agree something is amiss about your report and frankly I feel a call to Commander of the Alaska State Troopers IS in order.

When in doubt take it the Top...that cuts through 95% of the bull the others are laying down.

Good Luck!

Shorts - - how about the weather so far? Enjoying? Better than DFW? You came at the best time of the year. The next 8 months are wonderful. If it happens to get really cold in Feb, like way down to 35 some night with only 65 the next day, just look at the weather report for the rest of the country - - then head for the hot tub and smile really big.

Off on errands all day so catch ya tonight. Take care,

Bob

The weather has been good. Just the right temp and sun heat, but the clouds seem to roll in at random times. It kills the pool mood as I get cold easily with the wind But really, can't complain. Just as in Texas, if I went home to Corpus my "northern" allergies went away. I like that.

Went to the DMV this morning. As it turns out, we need a buttload of paperwork proving who we are and where we live. DH flipped out, "That page was down on your site and said nothing about needing all that!". I had to play good cop so we didn't look like crazies to the service guy. Anyway, we did not accomplish getting out new DLs after driving 30minutes over and standing in line another 15, just to get to the desk that gives you the ticket number to wait for the actual rep that does the tests and pics and whatnot. Next week we'll try again.

We went had some breakfast, got DH a haircut, hit Bed Bath and Beyond, went grocery shopping etc. Home now. I'm looking forward to hanging out by the pool tonight with some adult beverages. I'm sure DH needs to smoke a cigar to make sure "the humidity is set right in the humidor"...ummhm. Oh, I like out Publix setup, it has the liquor store right next to the grocery store

Our moving truck gets here in the morning. We are ready to get our stuff.

Sheessshhhh - - - tired - - ran all day and now trying to see what I accomplished. Sat at tire place while they played with my wheel in their little swimming pool. They can't find the leak. Took the wife to "all you can eat" Chinese food place that is terrific - - ate like a pig. Then shopping. GGRRR. Home now, put on shorts and layed out in lanai drinking my ph00. Nice.

Had the oysters in Colorado while in college - - went home for vacation with a dorm mate and he took us out on a real down to earth roundup with chuck wagon, overnighting - - the works. It was fun for this city boy. After a day of "fixing" the young bulls, the oysters on the campfire was the tidbit of choice. Not bad. Had some great steaks also over the campfire. Was a very interesting two days for me to experience that. Did a similar thing the next summer at Roy Rogers/Dale Evans ranch in California. That was neat just to meet them and have supper out on the ranch with them. Very down to earth and good people. That memory was a keeper.

OK, gone. Oh, don't mention food for another 12 hours.......

Shorts - are you kidding me - turning on hottub?!?! Our has to stay on 7x24x365. I am glad I don't actually know how much it contributes to our electric bill. On the flip side, one of our favorite moments ever was our first new year's morning in this house. It was -40F but there was a clear blue sky and not a breath of wind. We poured a glass of OJ and champagne for each of us and sat in the hottub to toast in the new year. It was MOST AWESOME!!!

Oh boy, look at my spelling up there Word of advice, don't drink wine out of dixie cups. The bottle goes faster.

Morning yall. We've got a busy but good day on tap. Our moving truck arrives this morning. We'll see if things made it through unscathed.

We run our hot tub outside year round too. Every New Years Eve we are in it no matter what the weather is doing. Had one time when it was a full on blizzard. I've added a large cover over the patio where the tub sits and a wind break on the north side.

Time to roll. I'm in Wisconsin...again.
