An interesting video...

This video is designed to give potential police candidates an idea of what the job can entail.. some of it is graphic enough that I asked Top to Ok it before I posted it, but I thought with all the discussion that pops up on here concerning why cops sometimes act the way they do, it was worth posting...

All candidates should see that, for that matter all should see it, coincidentally, brother-in-law is retiring today after 25 years as a cop, did the swat thing, bomb squad, motor cop, trained new cops on motors. Family always worried about the worst but he made it and congratulations to him.

Thanks for the video, kinda shows ppl a different light. Nobody ever wants to put themselves in an officers shoes and see the obvious potential for danger that's present all day everyday.

Just found these videos from a tv station. The skid pad is just one of over a dozen driving tests. The skidpad vehicles have roll cages and the students where helmuts. There is a second brake pedal on the passenger side. The rear tires are slick. The asphalt is sealed and hosed down. The instructor induces a skid and the driver has to prevent the vehicle from turning around 180 deg. or more.

Also found this. One of my sergeants is on the E.S. team. They were at the Camp Grayling Nat'l. Gaurd base training all last week. Somebody caught them at lunch time in the parking lot and posted it already.

Thanks for posting the video Chrisreyn, too bad most people will never taste the sadness and fear of the inherent dangers and tragedies of your job, or never know the security, safety and friendship found only within the brotherhood.

Do it safely,

Tim
