Influential Songs

After some downfalls recently country music has came back into my life again, the rock just makes me angry right now. Since I'm at the end of a chapter in my life some songs have just explained lots of how I feel. Country song writers really know how to bring it home, and not boasting, but especially the Texas scene. Some of the main songs on my playlist now:

Randy Rogers Band-In my arms instead (the new album is awesome)
Jamie Johnson- Seen it in color (my grandpa is fresh in my memories)
George Strait- Troubador (George Strait is a legend to me)
Garth Brooks-More than a memory
Cowboy Cool-Sonny Burgess

These are the ones really bringing me down to earth.

What do ya'll find influential to ya'll?

I find lots of songs in my playlist very influential to me. But I will just go ahead and post my top 25 most played from my ITunes playlist. I find it interesting watching this list (of mine) and see it evolve a little over time. I don't think Randy Rogers' "One More Goodbye" will be knocked off the top of my list anytime soon though.....

1. One More Goodbye-----------Randy Rogers Band (315)
2. Everybody's Fool-------------Evanescence (179)
3. Somewhere Down In Texas---George Strait (172)
4. Old Days---------------------Chicago
5. Borderline--------------------Alison Krauss and Union Station
6. Savin' Me--------------------Nickelback
7. Crazy Faith------------------Alison Krauss and Union Station
8. Dani California----------------Red Hot Chili Peppers
9. Look Out Any Window---------Bruce Hornsby and the Range
10. Wichita Lineman-------------Glenn Campbell
11. Broken----------------------Seether and Amy Lee
12. Only the Lonely--------------The Motels
13. Switch Opens----------------Soundgarden
14. Breathe----------------------Michelle Branch
15. The Last of a Dying Breed-----Neal McCoy
16. You Don't Seem to Miss Me-----Patty Loveless
17. My Last Breath---------------Evanescence
18. You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive-----Brad Paisley
19. Stone in Love------------------Journey
20. Have a Nice Day---------------Bon Jovi
21. Speed-------------------------Montgomery Gentry
22. Time For Me To Fly-------------REO Speedwagon

Nice list, lots of good music.

If I crave rock lately I've been listening to All That Remains and Shinedown, AC/DC when I'm pumped up, Killswitch Engage, Avenged Sevenfold, and lots like them. They make sense ebven when they don't make sense.

One that always makes me stop and think: "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. I know it's odd, but just the way the music and words tell the story of the sinking of the ship kinda chills my spine each time I hear it. I guess because it's a true story.

(Oh, and Rip, get the AC/DC Rockband track pack )

Rob I agree. That is an AWESOME song and I have it on the Ipod too. I also feel the same way about "You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive" by Brad Paisley. Each kinda tells of a haunting story.

Proud to be an American - Lee Greenwood. Spent most of a year hearing it at 12 and 12 on AFARTS. I can smell the GP medium everytime I hear it.

Lee Greenwood - Proud to Be an American
Born in the USA - Springsteen
AlterBridge - Rise Today
Love Remembers - Craig Morgan
When I'm Gone - AlterBridge
Not Supposed to Go Like That - Rascal Flatts
Pieces - Rascal Flatts
I'm Movin On - Rascal Flatts

Only a few I can think of right now, but pretty much every country song hits me someway or another. New AlterBridge is pretty good if you haven't heard it.
