What kinds of IM service do you use?

 

MSN for work. It's helpful when communicating with overseas developers w/ reduced phone costs. AIM at home for talking with my mommy.

msn till I figure out a way to use firefox to do it ! IRC has been mentioned but I never tried to see if it works yet....

 

Security wise, AOL is about your best bet using GAIM as the client. The others are a security risk I'm no longer willing to take, especially MSN and Yahoo.

 

I use trillian as a client, but Yahoo, AIM, and IRC as services. Trillian is an all in one program.

 

I personally use AIM, just because its so darn simple! I dont have too many people on my list....lol not too many people like me!

I use GAIM for all of my accounts without any of the rest actually installed on my system. Just a heads up on GAIM though, keep it up to date just like all the rest of your software:

I do AIM. Yahoo is not bad. I like the video phone on AIM. Just need a Web Cam and Mic.

I use AIM because of the video conferencing. My daughter and I both have iSights for our iBooks, and it works very well.
