Idiots Bragging

This just chaps my rear. Where do people come up with stuff. Now I'm getting the millage stated with my truck stock, let alone millage like this? What's your buy in on it? This was posted at another site

My g/f's dad has a 02 D-MAX 2500 4x4 CrewCab and has 11in Lift with 38.5's and he gets around 14-17 miles to gallon with a 90h.p. chip and he has a heavy foot.

True or BS??

In fact just read this, it's funny too. One guy is getting 26 mph (I think he meant gallon) in a 7.3L excursion. I find that really hard to believe.

My mom's stock 03 dmax with 305's on it gets 16mpg at best. My 4.5" lifted cummins with a comp in EZ mode and 100+hp injectors gets 18. It used to get 20 with the wire tapped and 275's.

Sounds like the overhead trip comp is on instant economy instead of average, some folks dont know the difference

Mine was averaging 22 in the summer. More like 17 now. Low was 16 in the summer towing a Jeep Grand Cherokee on a car trailer over mountains in VT on my way down to Albany. My father's '97 std. cab 2500 5-speed gets 26 in the summer on a pretty regular basis. Low was around 22 while towing a fairly heavy equipment trailer on the highway (nothing on the trailer). My buddy's '99 F-350 SRW auto 4x4 gets around 17 mpg most of the time, around 13 while towing an empty car trailer to Ohio, and around 11-12 towing it back.

I haven't fouond another diesel in a real truck that gets anywhere near what most Cummins do.

I've seen 21-22 MPG average on the overhead on a 500 mile trip averaging 60 MPH. Daily driving we see more like 16-17, Interstate (70+ MPH) about 17-18.

So yeah I find a consistant 26 hard to believe.

Man, those Fords are something, why did I buy a "Comings"?????

Hey I got 37 mpg when I left the transfer pump on the aux tank in the bed.
I never filled up the aux tank at my next stop...just the factory one and after all those miles, I only put in a few gallons so it must be correct.

That was towing at a gross of 22,800 lbs

i've been getting 38-40mpg consistently with my 285's since I only write down the gallons every other fillup. the 'other guys' are so desperate to get the mileage we're getting! finally the new dmax's are about comparable empty but still suck fuel towing.
