Id be happy with a shop with a pit to walk under the cars.. however the pit must also be a pathway to the house.
call me weird, paranoid, or sissy, but Id like to walk from my garage to my house underground.

I can deal with that, cause when it's just you and your girl and you need a rag, hey the smaller piece of clothing gets used = )Why be a 50x50 shop, make it like 200 by 200. Full machine shop on the 2nd floor with a elivator. Dyno on the lower level with a frame lift, full truck lift, all welders, and torches. More tools than you'll ever know of. I mean what's the fun of just fitting your truck in there to work on it when everybody that helps you can park there too. Oh and you'd have like 40 different beers on tap too for the people that help you

I got my inspiration for a shop from my old boss. He has 3 morton buildings, 1 small, 2 kinda large. The biggest one is where he stores his Kenworth(with trailor...), tons of VW beetles-old style, he collects them, a couple of tractors, his wifes Mustang, and tons of other stuff. Dont know the dimensions, but it is HUGE. He insulated the whole thing. VERY nice.
If I can ever get me one that big, I will probably put an upstairs in part of it. Just for hanging out/parties/in case a project lasts too long. Have a bed, nice bar with full assortment of hard liqours and beer on tap, beer in the fridge downstairs, some Crown Royal in the freezer. Yessir, then I would be set. Add in a nice work table in the lower part, for tearing into trannies and anything else I might need. TOOLs everywhere. Mostly the higher end tools, and which cost more, cause working with this Tawain stuff gets old sometimes. Have a lift for a truck on one side of the shop. Keep a couple of old tractors around to fix up.
I would probably insulate the whole thing, although it would be kind of expensive, but it is a one time deal. Probably stick with Morton buildings too, I like their setup, and they look good. Of course, have all the mandatory stuff in there, such as air tools and whatnot. Directly below the upstairs have a office, so that I can organize some stuff there, with a computer. And a vault too, so in case I ever get any case, out of site, out of mind, in ways of the IRS. Probably have another corner boxed in, for making yellow corn into alcohol, just for my own consumption.
Anyhow, thats what I would do. Begle, wait till you get to college, and there are plenty of sororities around. I, too, am tired of the bleach blondes around here. They're EVERYWHERE. I prefer black hair to all though, with redheads and brunettes taking 2nd place. I date a redhead, and yes, all the rumors you hear about them are true
