I need to find F or G rated tires
I'm gonna need new tires for my truck come spring I'm sure of it. Had these ones on here that I bought in March or so. General grabber AT2, very good tires but the ones on the back are about gone now. I'm guessing about 30-35k on them which is good. They are E rated but looking for something heavier, F or G rated. Figure if I get something heavier the tires will last longer than a year....maybe.
The truck is loaded all the time, weighs in at almost 10k, all the time. I know folks are saying buy 19.5's at this point, I cannot afford adapters, wheels and tires for 19.5's so out of the question.
I've checked a few tire places online and none sell F or G rated, only go up to E's.
Anybody know of online stores that sell these? Size is 235/85/16, prefer mud and snow but thinking that choices will be limited and might only be able to get highway tread.
thanks for any info!

I don't know of anyone making a f or g rated 16" tire, if they did it would surpass the weight rating of the wheels and/or vehicle so you will probably need to go to 19.5 for that. What conditions are you driving in, if it's mostly on road driving then decent e rated tires should last a lot longer than 35K. I've seen BFG a/t's go almost 50K with about half of that being on ranch roads.

This pdf contains a reference to a load range (F) tire on page 7. The manufacturer is Goodyear. I don't know if they still build the tire.

My Goodyear E's went 58,000 before replacement. Most of the miles were towing with the truck weight being 8240 and the pin weight 3250. They still had rubber but were cracking - - Goodyear worked with me on crediting back for unused tire wear for five of the tires even at that many miles.

Not even sure what the General's I have on the truck are rated at mileage wise. They are E's but it's a welding rig so maybe more than the General can handle. Might have to spend a few more dollars on some goodyears or god forbid....Michelins

Most "F" tires require around 95# pressure to achieve their load rating. How much pressure will your rims and stems handle? And, make sure when getting into these grade tires you don't end up with a tire designed for a trailer - - look at the designations very carefully. You DON'T want trailer tires on your truck. They are much stiffer sidewalls and will ride like a - - well - - a truck. DUH ha ha. Also, they will not hold corners as well due to they tread pattern.

I just checked where I got these tires and they are supposed to be 60k tires. Wow! Time to start digging around in my receipt folder. Hmmm, did I send in the warranty info???
Maybe I can get new tires this year....one more deduction for the biz!!
