It's a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas)Ford Contour!! $0.68 a gallon here in UTAH!!!
I did not buy it for looks I bought it for the fuel price and commuting not to mention..the Tax credit($3k), get to drive in the car pool lane, and the $.068 a gallon if I had not already mentioned!!!

Dont pay any attention to the white bird mess it still only cost $.068 a gallon to drive!!!!

Dude, I can't blame ya. You gotta do what you gotta do. I started driving the wife's VW Cabrio and bought her a Volvo V70. I only drive the Cummins when I need a truck. What I save on not buying diesel is more than what the payment on the Volvo, insurance and fuel for it costs for a month. It's only about $50 or so, but it also gives thefamily a third vehicle for those unexpected break downs.

yeah it's crazy low in Utah..they even lowered it this year from $0.78 to $0.68...CNG price is only raised or lowered in price 1 year at a time!!!!!!! so I am guaranteed to pay this price till Oct..i think is when they evaluate the price...

So what kind of mileage do those CNG cars get? I assume it's sold in gallons like propane, or is it metered a different way? Where do you fill up with CNG?
I can't knock you on that Ford either especially with the way fuel prices are, and it doesn't have the retarded headlights like on the Sooperdooty

Thats what I want to know too. Is it comparable to that of the same vehicle with the gasoline engine?

Can't blame you for buying it either, we have a '96 Ford Tarus and the thing still runs and drives like the day we bought it with 142k miles (which was great). As for looks... well thats another story .

I may have to look at that as an alternative. I've been driving my truck so little lately because of fuel prices. I filled up on March 13 and still have a little more than have a tank left.

They use a lot of fuel, it takes more cng to produce only 1/2 the engines rated power, BUT that is waaaay offset by the cost of the fuel and the drastically reduced engine maintenance. You can go 15-20k oci EASY with just straight dino oil,

I agree - my truck has seen less than 500 miles since December.

Just DON'T get rear-ended by a large truck or van. Wouldn't want to see the results with a CNG tank. Where's it mounted at?

they have a CNG fill station right next to where I work at the airport..then another about 10 miles south of my house..should work out pretty well.

the car get about 150 miles to a tank of CNG so it does not go quiet as far as gasoline..but since the fill up stations are so close to me this should not cause any issues...
IT ONLY COST MY MOM $4.00 TO FILL HER CNG Honda
$4.00 for 150 miles=

Buying me a prius, borrow a friend of mine an got 49.5 mpg going to work. I get 19mpg with my truck. 81 miles round trip. That about $400 per month in diesel. I figure About $125 a month in gas. That a $275 saving in fuel and about 2/3 of my payment.
