Unhappy I have battery mount problems

I just bought my first truck and have problems with keeping the battery mounted down. The box it is in is plastic and I've used up the durability of the current mounting holes by screwing a bolt and washers that have broken right through. I don't understand how this day and age it is so difficult to do such a simple thing like mounting a battery properly. I've had a few old beaters for cars and never had an issue with this. Any suggestions?

Hello, do everybody a favor and try to fill out your signature. We can try to give you a hand if we know what make, model, year and engine you have.

Hi bark. Thanks for the tip. Where do I fill out the signature? My truck is a 2008 3500 dodge ram 4x4 megacab Laramie with a 6.7L engine custom calibrated by wallsrodcustom. Also has a 2 1/2 inch lift kit and bulletproof bumper on the front. Full tow package too.

skipper, up by the title of this thread is a button called User CP ( control panel ) Click on it, now along the left side are buttons, at the top of these is a button called edit signature, click on it and you can type in the details of your vehicle, or anything else you want posted on your first post of every page, look at the bottom of this post to see my signature.

There is another place that is useful, edit your details, click on it. This is where you can fill out a bunch of details about yourself, change your password, etc.

OK! Now that we made you jump through all kinds of hoops, hopefully somebody with an answer will chime in.
My Ram has two batteries and neither are in a plastic box. They just have the single bottom bolt holding them in.

Ratchet strap. Better than a bungee cord. Found that out after my battery welded its self to the hood after hitting a pot hill.

Battery mounts are for sissies. So are hoods.

My wife once sat on the hood of our Datsun, contacted the hood with the positive terminal,
burned a hole in the hood and her pants and allowed her to momentarily levitate.
I should not have laughed.

@ Bark

My bud and I (12yrs old at the time) were getting a ride from his uncle to fish for the day while he worked at the refinery. He drove an old beat VW wagon or some ilk of that kind, anyways, driving down the freeway my buddy and I smell smoke and our backsides started getting uncomfortably warm. The battery was located under the rear seat and had contacted the underside of the seat and caught fire. I think the car was still traveling around 10MPH when I jumped out and started running across a field thinking it was going to blow up.

When you hit the entire hill of pot, were you in British Columbia or Washington State?

We didn't find out that my brothers old VW van's battery was six volt reverse polarity until we tried jump starting it (turns out it was frozen) and blew the top off.
Luckily the seat absorbed most of the acid.

Dang, I wish I had caught that. I think he lives in Chugiak so he probably slammed into one of the grow operations by bear mountain.
He sure can be grouchy for being around a pot hill.
