Three weeks ago I was perfectly happy getting in my truck and going to work or where ever without much worry that I would get there. Pretty much the same routine for the last 10 years. Then it happened. My OD rolled over 150K. The last truck I had that actually MADE it to 150K was traded in on this one and there wasn’t much of it left to trade in. So I say to my self “Hmm she’s still in pretty good shape I wonder what I should be doing or better yet, what I should HAVE been doing to keep my baby tip top”. I know! Lets see what there is on the Internet. Maybe just a good tune up will do! Surely there must be some user groups online somewhere? I checked out the Yahoo Groups and found a CTD group but with very little activity. Ah! Look! There. In the links section. Dodge-diesel.com Let’s check it out!<br><br>Now, three weeks and nearly $1000 later I’ve done a major tune up, replaced all the bearings in the rear end (and I mean ALL of them), adjusted the valves, I even got around to replacing that silly belty thingy on the front, flushed the radiator, replaced the thermostat, had the entire chassis steamed cleaned (Oh what is the world coming too now!) I just bought $400 worth of gauges (thanks Rod…I think ) I’m about to start messing with a 10 year old fuel pump that’s been working JUST fine and now I have visions of injectors and turbo housings and exhaust systems and BHAFs and super duper heavy duty mash-o matic transmissions dancing in my head!!!!!!!!! Oh and then there is the carpet thats a bit bare in spots and that little dent in the tail gate and well… the paint on the hood is getting a bit thin and the chrome on my wheels just isn’t the same anymore…….<br><br>Quick cut up the credit cards, sabotage the computer, the kids computer too! Throw my tools away………run……….hide……………..<br><br>AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaa aaaaa……………….THE INSANITY OF IT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!<br><br><br>

 

Picks up the scattered clothes off the ground and tries to lure Jbolts naked butt off the rooftop with a rag soaked in #2. &quot; It's ok JBolt I am here for you!&quot; We have a 12 step program,Steady boy! don't give up, we can work it out! Here smell this nice rag and put this blanket around yourself. Thats it ok carefully now climb down the ladder....No! don't look down ....gooodd just smell the rag you are almost on the ground. Ok sit here in the truck and listen to the rattle sound while I go get help. Yes you can chew on the dash if it makes you feel better

The nice part about our 12 step program is that at the end your '93 will be somewhere near 300hp and 700lbft of torque. and you will wonder why there aren't more steps. Have no fear we are all working to find additional steps ;D<br>I too am over 150,000 miles and I'm nowhere near step 12 - you can see where I am in relation to 300hp by my sig.
