The .577 T-Rex. http://www.accuratereloading.com/577tyr.html

And talking of recoil, this rifle has is it in spades! Admittedly, it is fitted with the A-SQUARE Coil-Check stock, which has three mercury reducers and the pad area is significantly larger than a normal stock. Both of these modifications to the stock will help reduce recoil. Still, any cartridge that produces over 11,000 foot pounds of energy is going to give you a good whalop. And I guarantee you, you are not going to be disappointed!

i have a video of a 50 cal mounted on a humvee ripping a house in half, i should post it. those 50 cal's are nasty weapons, we're technically not even supposed to take aim at infantry with them, it's against the geneva convention(baah, who makes these darn rules). i have video of what it does to a human body, however, idon't think the admins here would like me very much if i posted them, pretty gruesome.

Wow, that's a new one on me.

It kind of strikes me as funny in an ironic sort of way.

I don't think that the rifle shown in the film is designed to be fired while standing... I think that .577 caliber would call for prone position and bipod at the least? I've never shot anything over 30-30. (Not including 10 gauge.)

shooting off hand doesn't hurt near as bad as from a bench or prone. your body is more free to move and thus lessen the recoil abuse.

Exactly. Instead of the recoil going into you, it goes into the glass door behind you instead.

From the linked website.
.....developed in an A-SQUARE Hannibal model rifle. The rifle weighed 13.6 pounds. No effort was made to shoot it for group accuracy, as the whole purpose of this rifle is as a last resort stopper for animals that are intent on changing the make up of your anatomy!
I guess when that 2,000 pound lion is attempting to eat you for lunch, the adrenaline would help with the recoil.

Yeah when I was in the army they told us not to fire the 50 cal at personnel, but equipment like load bearing and uniforms were AOK.

So is that rifle breech loaded or does it have more than one bullet?

You would think that the air wake from the first bullet would be enough to knock over a medium-sized animal...

I have shot a lot of gun and have yet to shot anything that even makes me take a step back when I have a proper stance to shoot from.

It looks like a bolt-action rifle, so I'm guessing at least one in the magazine.

Sleight? exaggeration on the animal weight for effect.
Would it really matter?

hahaha, that's exactly what they told us, the ak-47 can be considered equiptment, if an iraqi just so happens to be holding it, then sucks to be him.
