I caught a Thief

Check out the nerve of these people, they are like a band of roving thieving gypsies,

I am working on a remodel where I am installing a gas line, I just put the pipe threader and dies in my truck, I set the tripod with chain vise next to my truck because I had to load my ladder first, I went in my house to check my e-mail before I left, just going to run in, check it and leave
when my wife watching a monitor in the other room yells to me "Hey someone is stealing something from your truck"..

Within seconds I was out the door and confronted her I said Why did you steal that, give it back NOW, he was trying to leave but luckily the Ice Cream truck was blocking his escape.

She gets out of the truck and acts stupid blubbering in Spanish like what are you talking about, I said give it back now, she went to the back of the truck and pulled it out as I grabbed it from her, I took a picture as my wife calls the Sheriff as he is trying to get away.

Watch her as she gets out of the truck, she walks right on to my property and steals my tools, everything that I have is in perfect like new condition and I am sure she thought it was trash and I was throwing it away.

I am sure the driver thought he had something good to sell.

I am still so furious over this,

I hate these trash diggers, about 6 months ago when I got home my neighbor across the street told me that someone came and took something from your driveway, I went and checked my cameras and found he walked way up onto my property and stole an air conditioning compressor worth $100.00 core value, dropped it and then threw it in the back of his truck, then he came back and disconnected the battery on the front of my trailer and put that in his truck and left.

Our neighbor also recently had an expensive bicycle stolen from her front door.

Within about 5 minuets the LACO Sheriff arrived and ask what had happened and then asked if I had a good description, as I showed him a pictures, he said, cant get much better that that, he ran the license number and said it came back registered out of Los Angeles which is 30 miles away.

The other car was already looking for him in the neighborhood, he said this is typical, there is a borrowed truck of some relative, the driver might be legal and have a license and the rest of them are illegals and they drive around stealing anything that is not chained down and either sell it for scrap or take it down to Mexico and sell it.

I really hate anybody who steals my property.

Here is what his truck looks like.

Now whenever a trash digger comes onto our street their picture will be taken so they will know they are not welcome and they are being watched.

About a year ago in the middle of the night some lady stopped and went through our trash can and grabbed a hand full of papers and was scared off when I set off my trucks panic alarm.

This entire incident took less than 2 minuets from the time I went in the house till she stole it.

If I wouldn't have had cameras I would have never known it was gone or who had taken it.

Have I mentioned I an still furious.

Oh yes did you notice the branch is missing?

Jim

Why would you toss your tools on the ground and walk away. It actually looks like it's laying next to the trash to be hauled away.

Why would anyone assume a new looking piece of Craftsmen equipment on my property next to my truck was trash for the taking?

She walked right onto my property and took it, never even looked at the trash cans first.

Wow, I'd be mad and leery too.

These days with the craigslist "free on the curb" mentality, if anything is near the curb they'll stop and take it without pausing to think it probably isn't trash. Heck, they'll take stuff out of your driveway!

Glad you got your tools back. They were on your property and that lady had no right to walk up and take your stuff. That friends is called stealing, whether she "meant" to or not.

I can't abide a thief! Glad you got your tools back, too bad the PD didn't get there quick enough to catch them. I've been meaning to ask you what kind of video system you have. It works pretty good.

Jim, I did notice the limb was missing and it poses a question in my mind. Since the limb is gone, it's not likely to be raining Mexicans on your lawn any longer. How do you intend to compensate for this? Maybe.........

^^^ In the country thats exactly what would happen to them. What that lady was doing was deliberate, and by the looks of the truck premeditated, they were looking for the easy steal, stuff even remotely close to the trash would give them a stupid excuse. Freakin pathetic.

Jim,I am shocked and amazed at you for expressing such a judgmental attitude! These people were only trying to get by and you expressed such harsh treatment without accepting their troubled childhood an an an and gosh SO JUDGMENTALThe very least you could have done was to invite them in for coffee so that you could apologize for leaving the items there and tempting them.Btw I could use the Ridged vise.

Doesn't matter where it is. you can't just come on to someone else's property and take something. That is called stealing..... It would have been hard not to shoot them.

Jim, you seem to have a lot of problems with people trying to steal your stuff. Have you ever thought of building a fence and getting a dog? I'd be more than happy to come over and lend you my 10+ years of fence building experience for free!

Don't get me wrong, if it is in your yard, they should not have touched it.

They'd probably just steal it.

You should attach a 150 mile fence charger on your tri-pod and set it out there again. put a couple rubber pads where it touches the ground, and soak the driveway with water. You'll hear the scream, and after they stumble away remove the leads and the charger, and tell the cops there must have been a short or something in the truck...

Maybe they need a little reminder that items on your property bite...

Jim,

The vise was closer to your truck than to your trash cans . looks like thievery to me.. The next time you take pictures of the getaway vehicle get a better angle on the license plate..

Now what's the story on the monkey falling out of the tree? (3rd posting in your public album)
