I caught a Thief
Check out the nerve of these people, they are like a band of roving thieving gypsies,
I am working on a remodel where I am installing a gas line, I just put the pipe threader and dies in my truck, I set the tripod with chain vise next to my truck because I had to load my ladder first, I went in my house to check my e-mail before I left, just going to run in, check it and leave
when my wife watching a monitor in the other room yells to me "Hey someone is stealing something from your truck"..

Within seconds I was out the door and confronted her I said Why did you steal that, give it back NOW, he was trying to leave but luckily the Ice Cream truck was blocking his escape.
She gets out of the truck and acts stupid blubbering in Spanish like what are you talking about, I said give it back now, she went to the back of the truck and pulled it out as I grabbed it from her, I took a picture as my wife calls the Sheriff as he is trying to get away.
Watch her as she gets out of the truck, she walks right on to my property and steals my tools, everything that I have is in perfect like new condition and I am sure she thought it was trash and I was throwing it away.
I am sure the driver thought he had something good to sell.
I am still so furious over this,
I hate these trash diggers, about 6 months ago when I got home my neighbor across the street told me that someone came and took something from your driveway, I went and checked my cameras and found he walked way up onto my property and stole an air conditioning compressor worth $100.00 core value, dropped it and then threw it in the back of his truck, then he came back and disconnected the battery on the front of my trailer and put that in his truck and left.
Our neighbor also recently had an expensive bicycle stolen from her front door.
Within about 5 minuets the LACO Sheriff arrived and ask what had happened and then asked if I had a good description, as I showed him a pictures, he said, cant get much better that that, he ran the license number and said it came back registered out of Los Angeles which is 30 miles away.
The other car was already looking for him in the neighborhood, he said this is typical, there is a borrowed truck of some relative, the driver might be legal and have a license and the rest of them are illegals and they drive around stealing anything that is not chained down and either sell it for scrap or take it down to Mexico and sell it.
I really hate anybody who steals my property.
Here is what his truck looks like.

Now whenever a trash digger comes onto our street their picture will be taken so they will know they are not welcome and they are being watched.
About a year ago in the middle of the night some lady stopped and went through our trash can and grabbed a hand full of papers and was scared off when I set off my trucks panic alarm.
This entire incident took less than 2 minuets from the time I went in the house till she stole it.
If I wouldn't have had cameras I would have never known it was gone or who had taken it.
Have I mentioned I an still furious.
Oh yes did you notice the branch is missing?

and survivors get an even stronger rope..
Jim,
The vise was closer to your truck than to your trash cans . looks like thievery to me.. The next time you take pictures of the getaway vehicle get a better angle on the license plate..
Now what's the story on the monkey falling out of the tree? (3rd posting in your public album)

Hmmmm .... at least two threads in the last week about a "possible illegal of the mexican persuasion" breaking the law.
I'm not with the FBI or anything ... but I think this might indicate a "trend".
Ya think ??

Dont know about your area but where my parents are at in CA it is not allowed for people to remove or look through anything in the trash or recycle bins. Has to do with the bins being owned by the waste managment people and rented to them (my parents).
That was interesting, I had to insist on him taking a report, he said what do you want, you got your stuff back.
I said I don't care, she came on my property and stole it, I guess if I hadn't confronted her and taken my property back then they could have written a theft report.
I told him I want him to know that they are not welcome on our street.

I do alot of work in the city of El Monte and this neighborhood is infested with trash diggers and homeless people pushing shopping carts going through trash dumpsters at the many apartment buildings in the middle of the night collecting bottles and cans and scamming out what they can steal.
Latest on the crime scene,
Last Saturday someone stole the catalytic converter out of the car on the street directly behind me, don't know what kind of car it was but it was supposedly valued at $3000.00 to replace.
BTW tomorrow is trash day and so far no trash diggers have shown up to steal from me, maybe they impounded his truck for not having a valid license or registration.

If you stuff and mount the ones you catch, it will serve as a warning to the others.
