hrmm. Im older, truck is older, no tickets, no faulted accidents.. insurance went up?

Let me start off by saying im 22 years old, my truck is a 2003 dodge ram 2500 4X4, no tickets, no accidents that were my fault. (a TICKETED wreckless driver hit me years ago)

This morning i get my annual insurance bill for 2014.00

Can anyone explain this? I looked on google to see if 3/4 ton truck rates went up and im not finding anything..

Looking for an explanation..

A recent tv add for Progressive says thier rates are going down. Funny. After 30 years of driving, I've never once had my rates go down, except when I turned 25. It drops t 21 for girls.

Turn 25 and get married. Insurance goes down a lot! Rates are just going to keep going up along with the cost of everything else. We actually received checks from State Farm because our rates went down. My jaw dropped when I saw that. I'd shop around for another insurance company if I were you.

Turn 25, stay single forever, get a hobby like playing with trucks and model airplanes. You will be wealthy a lot quicker than you could imagin. haha Should be able to retire at 45 easy.

Switch insurance companies. Start by putting in quote requests for the online companies and also get quotes from the others, then chose the best one to suit your needs.
The ads for Progressive are correct. Mine went down $160 annual which = more money for fun. Now paying $1,050 annual which covers my wife and me with two vehicles. The truck is about $650 and the car about $400 annually. (Full coverage, 300,000 liability, and $500 deductible each.)

Oooh, I remember those days. I pay less than you for two newer vehicles than yours for two drivers. Its because you're a young man.

Like everyone else said, stay clean until your 25 and your rates should drop significantly. And if I'm not mistaken, vehicles can be "re-rated" if they have more claims filed than most others. If I were you I'd shop around. We all should shop insurance every year, anyway.

Insurance is a weird thing, not sure how they come up with their figures.

I have state farm and i was paying $1200 every six months when I had my 01 2500, soon as I turned 21 (now able to legally drink lol) it dropped to $600 every six months. Then when I sold my 01 and bought my 94 2500 (identical truck) they wanted another $100 every six months for the older vehicle

Now its down to $350 every 6 months and hopefully it will drop again when I turn 25 in Feb.

I also have State Farm and when I bought my truck my insurance was @ $65 mth. After a couple of years, it had increased to $85 a mth and now it's back to $65 mth. We've been with them for 17 years without one accident so I can't figure it out. I called and asked why, and they said that if I hit someone, more damage will be done to the other vehicle. I'm calling BS on that one, it's just an excuse to gouge even more. BTW, I'm 37 and married.

How is your credit? If something (anything) has affected your credit report it will have an affect on your insurance rates.

Another ploy is if you have been with them for a long period, they jack it up because you are "due" for an accident.

Progressive got positively stupid on their pricing after about 6 years, so I switched to Pekin ( Farmers Mutual ).

Ummmm, for 3 cars, 2 liability and my beloved CTD I pay 443 every 6 months.

Insurance Premiums going up?
You haven't bought a new vehicle?
You haven't filed a claim?
Wondering why?

You can thank/blame people like this.

(insert Dodge is so much tougher than Toyota comment here)

that is great, though. Toyota should use it to tout their awesome brakes.

Brakes hell. Look at that last pic, looks like the light pole did the stopping.
