Why don't we all just move in next to Hoss and never deal with snow again!

HMM?? Hoss on a daily basis or snow for 2 months?? I think I'll take the snow. ;D

Re:How much weight?
So....how much weight IS a good weight anyway?? I have been wondering about this myself as the icy season approaches. 800 pounds??

Re:How much weight?
Where I'm at, we don't see much snow. When the roads get bad it's usually from ice/sleet. What kind of tires you have doesn't matter much when you're driving on a sheet of ice. Adding weight won't help you stop or turn....but it sure can help when you're trying to get going from a stop on a hill.

Lived in Lubbock for a couple years, through the 60's, as the child of an Air Force Sargeant and one of my most fond memories of Texas was getting 2 inches of snow, but it would be four feet deep against the house. If it didn't snow it was almost impossible to ride my bicycle on the ice! Now in summer, I think all we did was play with the horned toads and spiders.

I remember those days. The first time I ever saw REAL show was as a child living in Lubbock (although for me it would have been in the 80's and not the 60's). Gotta love the horned toads and bull head snakes. ;D

Re:How much weight?
You really don't need much weight...we reach -40 degrees up here in winter and anywhere from 4 to 10+ feet of snow depending on where you are up here and I haven't used weight in a long time. I used to use sand bags but don't buy them...get a couple burlap sacks and fill them up. I run a dually and even on days without a trailer behind me I rarely have to use 4x4. These trucks have a lot of weight behind them and the more you put in them the more your going to have to fight to get it stopped on an icy road. When in doubt use an import...they don't stop you but it sure is fun to see them slide around like a pinball game.
