How to change brake pads on mini van?

I need to change the front brake pads on my 04 Town and Country eX mini van. Sounds like metal on metal so rotors might be bad.

What happenes if I change pads and rotors are bad? Will it last a couple of years?

Anyplace online to download instructions on changing the pads?

How much should they cost for both sides?

Thanks.

REMOVAL - FRONT DISC BRAKE SHOES (CONTINENTAL TEVES BRAKES)
Raise the vehicle. (Refer to LUBRICATION & MAINTENANCE/HOISTING - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
Remove both front wheel and tire assemblies.
Begin on one side of the vehicle.
Remove the anti-rattle clip from the outboard side of the caliper and adapter.
Remove the two caliper guide pin bolts.
Remove caliper from caliper adapter and brake rotor.
CAUTION: Supporting weight of caliper by the flexible brake fluid hose can damage the hose.

Using wire or cord, hang the caliper from the front strut assembly (Stored Front Disc Brake Caliper). Support the caliper firmly to prevent weight of caliper from being supported by the brake fluid hose.
Remove the outboard brake shoe from the caliper adapter.
Pull the inboard brake shoe away from the caliper piston until the retaining clip on shoe is free from the cavity in the caliper piston (Removing Inboard Shoe).
Repeat the above procedure on other side of the vehicle
Reverse procedure for installation.

REMOVAL - FRONT BRAKE ROTOR
Raise vehicle on jackstands or centered on a frame contact type hoist. See Hoisting in Lubrication and Maintenance.
Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.
Remove the two mounting bolts securing the disc brake caliper adapter with brake caliper to the steering knuckle (Front Brake Mounting).
Remove the disc brake caliper and adapter as an assembly from the steering knuckle (Front Brake Mounting). Hang the assembly out of the way using wire or a bungee cord. Use care not to overextend the brake hose when doing this.
Remove any retainer clips from the wheel mounting studs.
Remove brake rotor from hub by pulling it straight off wheel mounting studs (Front Brake Mounting).

Well you could always just sweat the extra 20-30 and get them turned at the parts store and have safe properly functioning brakes. Having properly functioning brake parts adds tremedously to the "safety" factor of *most if not all vehicles traveling the roads with me and my family . Just jacking with you, but seriously think about sandpaper.

Does VZdude work at a dealer?

If theres any turning left in them it's usually only $8-10 a side if you take them in. If you don't have a ride to get them there, probably $25 or so, each for new before you start. Then you still have the old ones to re-use if one warps on you later down the road.

Wow good info, especially pics vzdude! I did this years ago on a truck but didn't know if there was anything new so I think I can handle it. And I will have the rotors turned as well, I think my 3500 CTD will handle hauling them to the store.

Wow and repair shops get $75 per wheel if the rotors are ok!

Thanks, you guys are the bomb.
