Re:Hemi

I wouldn't even worry about fuel mileage until you hit 20k,,then it will climb slowly.

Still got a ways to go before that. I think I'm around 8,500 right now...maybe 9,000.

Re:Hemi

Your about half-way to being broke in,,,,get a heavy trailer and yank it around for a few hours,,that will help speed the process. My mileage was still increasing slightly at 140k, 100k it was all highway,,,few odd jobs with a trailer and the mileage was creeping up.

Could be the fuel filter starting to plug up a bit.
I did my first change at 10,000 and did the 2nd at 20,000.

Wasn't plugged dirty, but black as black can be.

You could allways pull it out and have a look see.
If you see any dirt, bugs, moss, lichen, fungus, tar *****, small children, go ahead and change it and see if your mileage increases.

Personally, I'll stick with 10K rather than the 15K the manual suggests.

Make sure you change it yourself, rather than having the dealer do it, save yourself 50-75 bucks.

And we'll get the privelage of reading the "HELP, my truck won't start" post as well. :

Hehehe....I'll be determined not to make that post now!! Hate to give you guys the satisfaction of being right. ;D

Seriously though...I didn't think that was an issue with the '03 trucks. Don't you just cycle the key a few times until the fuel pump fills it back up??

I'd love to do that, but unfortunately the only trailers I have access to for pulling around are a boat, a flat bed and a 4 hourse trailer...none of which are extremely heavy. I could load them up...but that would require work.

Could be, I don't recall seeing that post in the 3rd gen forums yet,
and someone has to have changed their filter by now.
