Probably the final word

Well, this will probably be the final post on the Helmet. The following is the email I just got:

Wish I could have given you better news. However, this was an interesting learning experience for me as well. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. The reason was that the PBS show "History Detectives," with which I had some contacts, was exploring the possibility of doing a segment on your discovery! While they ultimately decided not to do the segment, they had asked me to avoid sharing
findings with you until they had done their own research and made a decision. This is so you would be "surprised" at the findings of the "History Dectectives."

I just got back from traveling late last night, and will mail the helmet back, along with a CD full of photos, as soon as I get some breathing room. It would still be fun to look around the find site sometime for clues as to how it got there.

Dave

If anything else comes up I will be sure to post it. Thanks for the "support", its been fun.

Maybe the History Detective could date the possible bottles around the site. But maybe they could leave some so that other History Detectives could date them in the far off future.

Well good lord, talk about holding a feller in suspense. Tell me the history behind it by god...... Hope to get some more answers later. Don't let it be the end. I have enjoyed this thread.
