Hello!!!
Back to the question....
I wouldnt own another 24 valve because of the injection pump. Ive replaced 2 on my truck, one on dads, and several on a couple of my buddies trucks.
They go out from neglet, low fuel pressure, heat, and sometimes for absoutly no reason at all. Yea, you can run additives to prolong the vp44's life, but for my needs (good reliable work truck that dosnt require frequent maintence) its just not pratical.

There was a thread about this, I looked for it this morning, and could not find it. There is 53 stamped on the block somewhere. I'll look around a little later and see what I can find...
Or, you can post in the 2nd gen forum again with the question, "How do I know if it is a 53 block?" and I bet you'd get a pretty good answer.

Hope you are getting the confusion worked out, when people are talking about the "OTHER" forum, they dont mean a different website, just a different category on this site...
As for the 53 block, it should actually say it on the block itself from what I have read, although being a 3rd gen guy, I don't know the exact location - do a search on here for "53 block" and I am sure you could read for days.... there really is great information here, stick around a while...
